We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maggie, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
My main inspiration in life is fashion and photography. I think both are such beautiful forms of art with no rules. I’m also inspired by nature, I love the ocean as well as the mountains. I’m inspired by life as a whole, to be honest. I am constantly taking pictures of everything and everyone around me. I’m obsessed with documenting my life, I like to use my Instagram and Blog as a personal digital scrapbook in a way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a digital creator and “fashion entrepreneur” ..you could say… I work with a variety of fashion and lifestyle brands through my Instagram and blog as well as help a few brands and business owners run their social media. I started getting into photography a few years ago when I was in college but now have shifted my focus more towards building my own personal brand. I like to showcase my daily outfits and give ideas on how to shop sustainability while still sharing my photography on my profile (I’ve been really into shooting film recently). I’ve learned so many lessons along the way but the main one has been that I’ve had to develop a thick skin. I am extremely sensitive and having a public platform isn’t always easy. I’ve had my fair share of rude DM’s or comments. But I constantly have to remind myself how happy I am creating content I love and that even if I inspire one person I’ve done my job. I’ve had to learn to really truly not care what others think.. and honestly, it’s very liberating. What I want the world to know about my brand “Maggie May Stewart” is that I am trying to be the most authentic and positive I can be in a space that is very filtered. I’m excited to see what the future holds. I really feel that I’m only getting started.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my best friends was visiting me in Denver here is what a perfect day would look like. A Perfect Day in Denver 7 am Morning Yoga at Red Rocks 9 am Coffee and Breakfast at Allegro Coffee Roasters 10 am-noon Shop local and small by visiting some of my fave shops in Denver. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my family! My parents and two brothers are my biggest supporters and have never judged me for what I love to do. They always think what I am doing is cool (or at least I think haha) and cheer me on as well as give me new ideas if I’m in a creative rut. I love our family of five because we all have different career paths and endeavors and we are each other’s biggest cheerleaders!
