We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Bottieri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Pretty simple really I just felt like I was meant for more, that life has so much more to offer. I feel something burning inside my soul and I owe it to myself to chase that dream and see where it goes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well let’s start with the name Reinspired Woodworks, I chose this name because i’ve failed many times in my life but I keep getting back up and pushing forward towards my dreams and goals. Each time I get back up I reinspire myself to do better, get smarter and create more. The second part to that is not only do I want to Inspire myself but I want to Inspire others through my artwork. I want each piece I make to tell a story and really connect with the customer and maybe one day help others pursue their dreams. Going into this endeavor I figured it was going to be challenging, I’ve lost friendships and lots of money along the way but this is what I want to do with my life and I owe it to myself to keep learning, building and growing. I’m most excited about having a different style of woodworking and really standing out against my competition. Each piece I make is truly an expression of myself, handmade with high quality materials that are built to last and to be enjoyed for many years to come. I started out with epoxy resin art specifically ocean resin art, growing up in southern California the ocean was a big part of my life and it shows through some of my resin pieces that capture the crashing waves of the ocean. I also build custom furniture including live edge tables, wall art and home decor. I think the biggest lesson i’ve learned so far is just to be yourself, the world needs more Artists/Creative people. Create pieces that you like or are passionate about and you will find buyers. Don’t be afraid to be different or try new things, create your own path in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would head straight to the San Juan mountains in southwest Colorado, in my opinion the most beautiful mountains in Colorado. This place has a lot of old mining history and stunning untouched beauty. I love exploring and camping in this region, i’ve found so many hidden gems like secluded hot springs and beautiful waterfalls. A warm cooked meal out under the stars being surrounded by nature is my kind of destination. Aqua blue lakes and mountain views in every direction really refreshes my soul.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I listen to alot of motivational speakers and I’d love to give a shoutout to Les Brown, although i’ve never met this man, he has been a huge part of my life for many years. I’ve been listening to his motivational speeches for years. His story in itself is a huge inspiration for me to keep pushing myself to see what i’m capable of.
Mr. Les Brown if you’re reading this…” I’M THE ONE!”
