We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Boddington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up I found so much enjoyment with being creative, then when going to school I realised I learnt more with visuals and creating drawings and diagrams instead of reading or writing.

Getting older, my jobs I have had all included design, creativity, and various other “hands-on” tasks which I found very enjoyable, and I was able to still produce the same high quality work that others could.

Because I enjoy being creative, I explored different ways of sharing and spreading this. I began by filming my drawings, editing the videos, and uploading them to youtube- I had a great response from the people who watched and people reached out to me for commissions which gave me and the “clients” enjoyment!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art I created to sell on Etsy also includes prints I take when I do photography. I currently create pixel art, which is a less popular form of art online, together with paintings and merchandise related to my online streaming.

I take pride in making unique items which cannot be store bought as it gives me excitement to create different things, along with the fun of making something that no one else will be able to buy.

I also thoroughly enjoy photography and take photographs for weddings and events, I also take photos of pets and families. Any photos I take in my free time, such as wildlife photography, landscapes, or characteristic places, I sell as digital prints of physical prints.

I not only want to help people with their creative ideas, I want to share the uniqueness of what I can produce

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I frequently visit Cornwall in the UK which is easily one of the most photogenic places I have ever visited. The beaches and seas are so crystal clear and tranquil that it is almost if you are at a private beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I volunteer for the Cats Protection which is the biggest single species welfare charity in the UK.

I currently volunteer with fundraising and events, but in the past I have made newsletters, post for social media, and I was also a “Cat Cuddler” which is when I visited the cats who were ready to be adopted and helped with socialising them!
