We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Sound and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I love risks. I see them as opportunities to pause and question the fear and scarcity paradigm that so many of us get stuck in. If I look back at milestones in my life and what’s led me to living in a way that’s true to who I am, risk is always involved. My perspective is that the meaning of life is to have experiences in this human body I’m in. That means staying curious and open to what the world has to offer.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Source Flow Love Light offers assistance to people who want to reconnect with the power of their heart. This means helping individuals shift out of always being in their analytical mind (judgement, criticism, anxiety). Our thoughts and emotions have energetic frequencies, and when our bodies are holding the frequencies of things like judgement and criticism (even on a subconscious level), it affects our health and overall constitution. Through Reiki sessions and spiritual development coaching, I help people hold and broadcast emotions of joy and love, which are healing for all the body’s systems (nervous, digestive, respiratory, etc).

Energy work like Reiki is a dance between the practitioner, receiver, and varying fields of frequencies. All practitioners are unique, but I’d say my approach comes from a blend of my fascination with subatomic particles and my connection to high frequency spiritual beings who offer support during sessions.

I’m excited that more people are exploring modalities of healing that are outside the “norm” that we’re conditioned to value more than “alternative” ways that are ancient.

My business was started because I chose to listen to my intuition. I’m meant to share hope and healing in this lifetime to help humanity evolve from where we are now, to a more unified existence. There are easy and not easy moments each day. It’s all experience, which I see as evidence that I’m alive. Yay for being alive, haha.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start by getting coffee at Huck on Colorado Blvd, because it’s near my house and I love that the local roaster took over a space that was previously occupied by a behemoth coffee company. Then we’d check out whatever is going on at Buntport Theater. The people who run that company are creative, good peeps. I’d also take my friend to engage in some civic health by going to a Warm Cookies of the Revolution event. Being in real life community with people is soul nourishing. I don’t drink alcohol so we’d go to Lucina so I could get one of their pretty, fun, tasty mocktails and my friend could get one of their delicious cocktails. We’d eat there too, their food is amazing. I don’t have a favorite hike, but we’d get to the foothills for some time in nature, and probably have a dance party in my kitchen at some point, but for the sake of this question being helpful to others, I hear Motown night is back (never stopped?) in Denver, and dancing is such a joyful way to get stuck energy out of our bodies!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m grateful for people who share their unique gift with the world. This ranges from artists showing up and creating work that raises the vibration of humanity, to published individuals like Brené Brown and Mark Brackett who help people turn inward and understand the emotional landscape. Locally, I’m inspired by Kathy at Green Light Reiki, Buntport Theater, The Shop at Matter, and Yuan Wonton.
