We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted a place for women to learn how to put makeup on; where makeup was designed for them and only them. I built the company, Moore For Life with one women in mind; my mother. My mother never wore makeup but always wanted a place where she could go and learn how, With us living on a dairy farm, she never felt she added up to other women in society. So I created a business to teach women how to wear makeup, so they could build confidence in themselves. I designed Moore For Life to teach women a three minute, five minute and seven minute makeup application based on their style, desires, goals and their career paths. My goal is that women will look in the mirror and like what is always looking back at them, With women being the nurtures in the world, if they love themselves, then they will be that much more impactful to the world. So I always say, my mother is my beauty muse.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Moore For Life apart from other makeup companies and makeup counters is for us, it’s not about a sale; it’s about the inspiration and the education a client gets before leaving our studio. Building a company is never an easy task. The number one thing is putting your heart into the company. Success does not come easy but I know it’s on a road it’s meant to be on. The biggest challenge I’ve overcome in my career, is being a male in a women dominated industry. I found if I be myself completely and give my true answers, in my true way, it broke down a lot of berries.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Heading up I-70, he very first place to stop would be Vail to hike a mountain, do some mountain biking and eat some good food. After that, continue on 1-70 to Hanging Lake for a great hike, beautiful scenery and a picnic lunch. Making my way to the mountains of Aspen, for some amazing music festival that’s obviously sure to be the best they have ever seen. Leaving Aspen, no other way to go besides Independence Pass to get back to Denver. On our way back to Georgetown for lunch is a must; I swear Norman Rockwell painted that town. Onward to the Flatirons of Boulder; after a beautiful hike, lunch at The Kitchen with a couple manhattans to put you in the mood. Then end the evening at the St Julien before catching the flight back.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Life as a daymaker is a book that really summed up the gift I was given. It showed me the power of thought, the power of intention and the power of the impact of the work I do on a daily basis. Written by David Wagner
