We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Eichstead and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
Networking is a Contact Sport by Joe Sweeney. If anyone knows networking, they know it truly is a contact sport. When I came across this book from some research on my favorite NFL Team, the Green Bay Packers, I was excited to dive into what the former marketing agent for Brett Farve had to say. Joe Sweeney goes back to the same message consistently throughout the the book which helped me build self confidence to really cultivate relationships and grow in my career and business. I often go back and reread it when I am in need for a little boost.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Blonde Girl Promotions is a marketing agency that represents professional bass anglers and other small businesses growing their brand mainly through digital marketing outlets. I was presented this business opportunity through a dear friend who we lost this year. He was a main staple in making my business as successful as it has been.
Has it been easy? Is growing something on your own ever easy? No, not in the least, but the rewards when a client and their sponsor are thrilled with the outcome of a campaign are invaluable. Those feelings are the same when a client victoriously negotiates a contract on their own or when an event receives outstanding praise from attendees. I love seeing others succeed. It fills my cup in the most astounding way.
And that is what the takeaway. The Blonde Girl Promotions brand is when other succeed we all win.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is one of the most adorable cities I’ve ever traveled to. There is still a lot of the city I look forward to exploring with my best friend (shout out Laura Heinz), but it’s never a bad time to catch a baseball game at Coors Field! I have also really enjoyed the River North Art District stopping in at the Giggling Grizzly and the ever popular Coyote Ugly. Next time we are in the great state of Colorado we want to attend a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater and hike Rocky Mountain National Park.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my parents and my sister. My Aunts and Uncles and my cousins who are like my siblings Nathan, Shelby, Emily and Melissa. Couldn’t do this without you! My best friend Laura Heinz. My sista from another mista Jenna Marshmallow/Russell and her husband Jay along with my second father, Jim. My step-sisters Lindsay and Jessica. Gwen and John Lytle and their entire extended family. Danielle Pyle and all my yogis. Kristin King and Dianne Martin. Aaron Martens, Duane Bethke, Brock Barth, Shannon Wheeler, Brian Stockl, James Watson, Ish Monroe, and the fishing community we have created. All of my NC family! And SO many more, I can’t list them all. Thank you all for being my cheerleader and supporting this adventure!
