We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikayla Cisneros and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mikayla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When it comes to business, and general ethics, I have very high standards. Starting my own business has allowed me to serve my community, and bring my clients to the next level. If my clients truly invest in themselves and their dogs, I am in it with them 150% and am dedicated to their success. There are a lot of pros and cons of running your own business and it is definitely hard work, but well worth it for me.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a balanced dog trainer who is passionate about improving the relationship between people and their dogs, and teaching them how to communicate with each other, in order to live their best lives. I provide both board and trains – where I take the dog into my home for multiple weeks and train the dog for them, or private lessons where I guide people through training their own dog. It’s a challenging job, but also very rewarding and I get to work with both awesome dogs and awesome people.

Business is never easy and this is not my first rodeo. I owned and have owned multiple businesses over the course of my 20s, some that have failed, and others that have been very successful. It’s tough dooing everything on your own between the actual dog training, travel, homework lessons and follow ups, filming and updates, back end business stuff and more. But it is also so fun creating the business and community of your dreams.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my German Shepherd Rogue, who we miss dearly, she set me on the course of dog training and forever changed my life.

To Centennial Schutzhund Club for immersing me into the world of advanced dog training and showing me what dogs are capable of.
