We had the good fortune of connecting with KMA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KMA, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my will. I’ve put in the hours, I’ve done the research, and invested my own money into this. More importantly the results are there as well. I’ve past the point of figuring out how I am and what I want to do I just have to stick to it and wait on my day to come.
Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I write music about my real life and for others who also live that real life. I think we all can enjoy the everyday rap single but what are we listening on the way to work in the morning or on the way home. I make songs that resinate with the everyday person, thats my strength thats what sets me apart. I’m who you listen when you’re not at the club just chiling trying to figure out life. I’m right here with you trying to figure it out too, shedding light on the ups and downs and ultimately showing that things will go on. I can write the music I make based on the fact I have lived the everday life in spite of being a rapper signed to an independent label.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve had a few industry freinds come out and visit, downtown is always a good place to start. I often take them down market st by the ballpark and show them the blocks of bars. Viewhouse is alwasy a good place to start it gives you a great view of the surrounding area. From there I’l usually go on a walk through downtown, I feel as though the heart of downtown wether it be the 16th st mall or the quiet neighborhood of captial hill it acurately represents the culture of our city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to Brofam, my camp has always been there to remind me to keep pushing no matter what.
