We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Hensley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Molly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We started Sunset Vibes Graphics as a group of friends that has known each other for decades growing up in Missouri together. Our co-owner and head printer Scott has been screen printing for 20+ years, and I have been working in the local community in customer service and supporting small businesses for over 10 years. Now that we are all living in Longmont and proud Longmonsters we decided to join forces to create Sunset Vibes Graphics. Our main goal is to bring high quality and affordable screen printing done by hand, focusing on customer service and our community members. We wanted to have a way to support our local community, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations that we are passionate about.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Sunset Vibes Graphics we offer high quality and affordable silk screen printing by hand. With screen printing by hand, we ensure that each print is vibrant and at the highest quality that feels good and lasts. Our team has the capability to fulfill orders large and small, and we really focus on customer service and good vibes, ensuring that every order has our undivided attention. We can brand businesses, special events, and organizations with t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, koozies, and more. How we standout from our competition is that we have been able to keep a low overhead during our startup which allows us to offer our services at a lower rate but keep the same high quality that our competitors provide.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting from out of town, I would have so much to show her!

Girl’s Day without the kids:
First up we’re going to ride our bikes downtown to get coffee from MeCo Coffee Collective, and breakfast sandwiches from Biscuit Mike’s. Then we ride down to do some shopping and I’m definitely taking her to Iron & Grace, Bricks on Main, Magic Fairy Candles, Maker General, and Juniper Goods. We go to Cheese Importers to do some shopping and enjoy lunch at Moxie Bread Co. After this we ride our bikes to the St. Vrain Greenway to dip our toes in the creek at Dicken’s Farm Nature Area, and ride out to Sandstone to see the beautiful trails along the way. After getting home and cleaned up, we end our day at West Side Tavern to sit outside for dinner and drinks.

Kids fun day:
We are starting the day by taking the kiddos to the Vance Brand Airport to watch the planes and grab breakfast at Flight Deck Grill, then go for a hike at Golden Ponds and check out the waterfall. Then we head to Warrior Playground to let the kids run and play and get out some energy. We head to Best Day Ever to get some yummy coffee and crepes for lunch, and let the kids get some ice cream. Then we walk down to Barbed Wire Books to see what’s new, and go to Quarter’s Arcade to all play games together. Next up we head to dinner at Flavor of India and sit on the rooftop to soak in the views, then end the day at Wibby Brewing for live music and outdoor games.

This doesn’t even scratch the surface of all I would want to show my bestie! This is why I love Longmont so much, there are endless things to do and things to see. We have incredible outdoor activities, and truly some of the best biking trails and views around. We also have such a vibrant community of local unique businesses, shops, and restaurants. I am very proud to be a Longmonster!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We had been thinking of starting this business for a while, and after losing a very close friend of ours we were inspired to take the leap in honor of him. Our friend since childhood, Cody, was always living life to the fullest and taking risks to do what he loved. He had such a gumption for life and always went for what he wanted, and after losing him unexpectedly we felt it was time to make this dream a reality. We know he would be our biggest supporter, and that he would be very proud of all we are doing and accomplishing.

When we started this business one of our biggest goals was to work with local nonprofit organizations we love as a way to give back. We are honored and grateful to be partnering with local organizations like the OUR Center, Longmont Humane Society, and Mountain States Children’s Home. We strive to work with organizations and businesses that bring so much love, light and support to our community.
