We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly WOODHULL and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Molly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ever since I was a young girl I knew I would start my own business. I am from a family of entrepreneurs and my mom has always been an inspiration to me. I worked in the outdoor industry and in mental emotional health throughout college and after. Due to my own experience with meditation I ended up studying mindfulness and meditation through a few different programs, one at Stanford and the other at Duke University. After those experiences I became really excited about meditation and mindfulness and how important they both are. I got asked to teach a meditation class at the University of Denver. Literally that night after I taught, I called my mom and the next day I became incorporated. I just went for it! I could feel I was a good teachers and knew starting a corporate wellness company was the right thing to do. There are people all over the world that spends so much time at work. I figured that if I could help people feel better there, then I could help people feel better in their every day lives! Plus large corporations make a big impact on our world and if I could help bring positivity, clarity and peace to corporations than I could make a big difference in our world. And that’s how it all began.
What should our readers know about your business?
Woodhull Wellness provides mindfulness and compassion-based meditation programs to corporations across the world. We work with organizations and people for 6 to 12 months. During this time we provide access to a self lead online course called Realistic Self-Care and provide live meditation drop in sessions to connect and support peoples in their practice. Woodhull Wellness helps people reframe their understanding of mindfulness and meditation. it’s not just about sitting down each day for 20 minutes and focusing on the breath, it’s about changing the way we live our lives. We teach people how to develop routines that support their goals in life both professionally and personally. There is an art to incorporating mindfulness and meditation into every day life and we have it down! We are excited about our growth potential and how we have doubled our client base in the last year! Because of that we are reaching more people each day and helping communities around the world thrive.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being outside in the Colorado sunshine is so important to me! A morning hike somewhere near Boulder or white ranch followed bye coffee at wash perk. And maybe a little walk or hang time at Wash Park. Then off to grab a margarita and lunch at Agave taco bar. We might bop around Cap Hill and grab Dinner at table 6 at some point. And of course one night I would want to spend it with friends having a bonfire, hanging outside, playing with pups.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out to my family and my friends. I could have never gotten to where I am without them. I could have never gotten to where I am without the guidance of parents . Their experiences in business have been so helpful to me! My friends and family have been pivotal in the process of finding success. They have advised me and supported me from the beginning . I really don’t feel like I got here alone, my community has helped me grow every inch of the way
