We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgane Burke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgane, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew that my passion for fitness & nutrition will led me to, one day, start my own business.
The opportunity presented itself after I had my second baby as I realized that going back to my previous career would no longer fit my lifestyle and be aligned with my vision of professional accomplishment.
I really wanted to create a concept that would make fitness accessible for all, taking the fear and intimidation component out of the equation.
So many women give up on their wellness goals due to fear of the unknown and fear of failing.
I wanted to make sure to provide the guidance and education necessary in order for them to get rid of a set of beliefs that has been holding them back for years.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Morgane Burke Fitness came together after owning a first fitness company that I like to call my “first draft”. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge not only of the industry but also as a first time entrepreneur. After experiencing some high highs, low lows and mistakes made along the way, I decided it was time to take this experience and build something new that was more aligned with my vision of holistic & sustainable fitness.
I always ensure my clients understand my method and why I work the way I do. They come to me to build a new healthy lifestyle and sustain it for the rest of their lives in a very smooth and natural way.
When it comes to training, my approach is very functional. Yes, they will experience lean muscle mass gain and fat mass drop but they will learn how to train for mobility, flexibility and fall prevention. I emphasize the importance of not only life span but also health span and prevention of chronic diseases.
Every single session I teach, every program I write and every meal plan I build are very customized and tailored to the needs and goals of each and every one of my clients.
I also make sure to educate them on safety, proper form and progression so they are able to continue on their own after we are done working together.
After all, they are not going to hire me for the rest of their lives but they sure need to keep a heathy routine on a daily basis and know how to do it on their own.
I take great pride in watching my clients succeed and witnessing the changes that their mind and body are going through. This is an incredibly rewarding job and I would not want to trade it for any other. With that being said, Rome wasn’t built in a day… Being on my own required me to learn and build several skill sets in order to grow my business.
Some days are harder than others and showing up with discipline and resilience is the only way to navigate the ups and downs of owning and growing a small business.
I’ve learned to always trust my gut feeling and remain truthful to the vision that led me to embark on this amazing journey.
It is crucial to me that the amazing women that I work with always feel safe, heard and accomplished after every single session.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If this is your first time in Colorado, visiting Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre is a must do. Bonus points if you are able to catch a show there! If not, the venue and view are amazing and there are many trails to explore as well.
When it comes to mountain towns, Vail is my absolute favorite if you are willing to drive a couple of hours each way with no traffic (absolutely worth it to me..)
I love to hang out in the Cherry Creek area. The mall has, of course, plenty of amazing luxury stores, but Cherry Creek North is an awesome area to walk, explore and enjoy the very diverse restaurant scene.
I highly recommend Hillstone and the Cherry Creek Grill (reservation recommended).
If you like sushi, Sushi Den is a local favorite! Located in the Platt Park neighborhood, it will also give you the opportunity to take a stroll down Pearl street, pretty lively especially on weekends!
If you find yourself in the Colorado Springs area, you should drive a bit further and attempt the famous Manitou incline! Making it to the top could be challenging but SO worth it!
I would also suggest rewarding yourself to a lunch at the Broadmoor hotel and even spending the night!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All my amazing clients for doing the humbling work everyday and believing in themselves.
My husband for his unconditional support and love.
My kiddos for being one of the many reasons I keep pushing everyday, I believe that showing them resilience and good work ethic will be incredibly helpful for the future.
