We had the good fortune of connecting with NajdaMaria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi NajdaMaria, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I offer Intuitive Counseling & Energy Healing. The more I am connected to the divine within me the more I can be of service to another. So my guiding principle is checking inside myself and maintaining this connection. We are all on a life-long journey of clearing and shedding the obstacles in our path and opening to a deeper alignment with the source within us. When this happens we naturally reach out to another in compassion and empathy. I believe this inward process is the most responsible and far reaching contribution we can all make toward a kinder and more just world, a world that becomes more deeply saturated with love.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I offer Intuitive Counseling & Energy Healing. It has always been primary for me to push past my limits and open to a greater sense of understanding, love, connection to myself, to others and to nature. Since that is my passion and devotion, it is what I want to support in everyone who seeks that connection. As I’ve grown I have a deep and rich relationship to more than what we perceive with our five senses. As we each clear the pain, trauma and debris from our past, so much beauty and joy opens up for us. This is so exciting for me to experience and facilitate for another. Life becomes more and more profound, holy and sacred. During this life long journey of growth and expansion, we encounter many obstacles. I’ve had to peel away layer by layer of resistance, fear and doubt. I understand the process. I have compassion and understanding for the courage it takes to confront ourselves. We sometimes give up and close the door. And every person deserves to have someone there when they want to start again and go for more, I love being there when you are ready. I’ve discovered during the pandemic that whether a session is in person, over the phone, Facetime or Zoom the connection and energy during the session remains the same.
My work includes sacred art designs as is shown in a few of the photos here. Guadalupe the Bear is my logo because of my love and connection to Guadalupe . In Santa Fe on a Sunday in September, 2012 a beautiful brown bear had set herself on the steps of the Guadalupe Church. Did you know this church is the oldest church to Guadalupe in the U.S. ? Every December 12th, on Guadalupe’s day the church is filled with devotion, roses and music, singing and guitars till wee hours of the morning. People gathered around to watch the reclining Bear stretched out. When a crowd had formed, the Bear moved slightly downhill to a grassy spot. She settled in and fell asleep. This was a form of the Divine Mother, it seemed like everyone felt it. She had graced this spot with her presence, a large, bountiful, peaceful presence. People gathered to take her picture. The police even came to protect her slumbering form. I wanted to find a way to thank her.
A New Day A New Way is another inspired design. At the close of the calendar cycle on December 21, 2012 there was anticipation of a new beginning; of more kindness, justice, inclusion. I created a design to express that hope. It feels the right time now to bring it out again.
We’ve been waiting for this day. The Day when we would feel the turning over of a new leaf begin to gain momentum in the collective. Amanda Gorman assisted us with this movement forward when she read us her inaugural poem. Through her words and her presence, she gathered us all in the palm of her hand and declared, words have meaning. They are true and holy. “There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.”
On the back of the card I included these words, ‘It’s said we are entering a time of greater love and caring for one another.’ Like a tumbleweed this prayer for more kindness and caring has been gathering force until the events on January 6th further catapulted us all closer to a New Day and A New Way.
Most recently there has been the beginning of a new day for justice with accountability for George Flyod. More milestones will come and invite us to celebrate with prayer, gratitude, dance and song the one life we all share.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to show my friends the beauty of the Rockies, starting with Chautaugua and onto Eldorado Springs up the South Mesa Trail We’d head down 93 to visit Bongo Love, the chainsaw master and wood carver. His carvings of Bears are whimsical, fun and he is a wonderful story teller. In the Berkeley area on Tennyson we’d eat outside at Vital Root . The food is amazing, healthy, fresh and creative. I’m going back soon for the Chaga Cappuccino! For dessert, across the street we’d have the yummy vegan key lime pie at the Colorado Cherry Pie Company. Heading back up to Boulder, a must stop is Tibet’s Restaurant in Louisville for their veggie pakoras. On the weekend, we’d head to the Farm Stands. I love the Arugula at The Benevolence Farm. The people there are friendly, informative and will offer you a tour of the gardens.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The list is endless because my life has been marked by pivotal phases and in each phase there has been profound support, mentorship and encouragement. from many sources. As spring arrives with the Easter and Passover season I am filled with Mary Magdalene’s influence. She reminds me that we all have the divine within us. She helps us focus on the holy and sacred love that is available and the renewal that is possible. She carries within her the reminder that Nature is a great, great reminder that we are always growing, changing, bursting forth with life. I look to Nature for this inspiration daily. I credit her with keeping us balanced and centered during this very chaotic time.
