We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Isaac and Katy Isaac and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy and Katy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Running a business was always a dream for the both of us. Our career history has involved working towards someone else’s vision.

Being that we are both motivated and artistic in nature, we wanted to find something that could both equally challenge and fulfill us. We both bring different skills, experiences and networks to the table- this includes photography, jewelry design, art, website design, tech, marketing and sales.

We enjoy our backyard hangouts where we can be creative together and develop our brand. This is a way to check out from normal day-to-day tasks and utilize our skills towards something we both share a love for. We can’t wait to see where this goes!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are excited to expand what was originally a fun hobby/activity into a business opportunity. We have collaborated to utilize shared skills of photography, jewelry making and design.

Currently, we are mastering the art of different wire wrapping techniques to create simplistic, modern and high-quality gemstone jewelry. Right now, we are starting primarily with necklaces and earrings and will expand our offerings as the market need shows fit.

As a mother- daughter business, we are most excited to do something creative together and to incorporate our unique networks and skills. This by no means has been an easy start- but with the help of others and the grit needed to start a successful business, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

In this short month of our endeavor- we have learned that branding, quality material, marketing and differentiation are the key components to successful start.

We are eager to receive insight from the local community to hear what kinds of jewelry and gemstones they would like to see next in our brand! Currently, we are looking to offer selections from affordable- high end gemstones.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question!

Both of us have lived in Denver CO for a long time now- almost thirty years. There are many different things that I would want to show someone who is traveling, but what stands out as number one is definitely the rocky mountains.

Mountain attractions such as Lake Dillon are one of my personal favorites. You can go boating, kayaking and paddle boarding- best part is your furry friends are welcome to join! There are plenty of excellent hiking spots like Lair O’ the Bear, for those of you that might want something a little more beginner friendly. There are also many great places like the Mohawk Lakes trail in Breckenridge that are not for the faint of heart.

In terms of more local Denver attractions, some of our favorite spots to hang out are the Denver Botanical Gardens, Washington Park and Sloans Lake.

There are tons of great restaurants to check out in the Denver Tech Center, South Broadway, Wash Park neighborhoods and Capital Hill.

We are also both huge fans of live music- not only does Colorado have great hiking scenery, but it also has beautiful outdoor music venues- our personal favorite is Red Rocks Amphitheater. We are very engaged in the music scene, in fact one of us is a live music photographer ( Nancy).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to do a shout out to Mandy Cardenas . She runs her own successful on-line jewelry boutique called Luxe Vibes Jewelry.  She helped us set up our business and website and has been hugely helpful in walking us through the process. Check out her on -line store on Shopify!
