We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Drivas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process I had behind starting my own business for a couple of reasons. If you do not know, I run an online coaching service for student athletes to accomplish all of their fitness goals. As a student athlete myself, I know how it feels to look all over the place for the answers for the “best diet” or “how to build more muscle fast”. I wanted to provide a service for athletes to have it all in one place no matter what equipment or accessibility they had. When covid-19 hit, I decided to go all in on this idea because many gyms closed around the world. I’ve always wanted to help people in any way I could and felt this was the best way to do it based off the experiences I have had.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being an online coach can be fun but also stressful. No one knows who you are and no “word of mouth” from another person. You have to really gain the person’s trust that’s watching your video, reading your post, or whatever you’re trying to provide to that person. If someone says this is easy, they’re lying. If it was easy, every person would be doing this but that’s what’s fun about it. Figuring out the problem and adjusting as you go. It’s like working out, if you’re trying to build more muscle and not seeing the results, you need to go back to the drawing board and see if your calories are off or your training program.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Growing up on Long Island it can be much of the same just labeled as different towns. There are cool spots such as Long beach that’s a fun vibe to meet new people, walk the boardwalk, and ride the waves. In Long Beach, they have a really cool milkshake spot with loads of different flavors called “Diner By The Sea” that I love to go every time I go down there. If I wanted to do something fun by myself or with whoever, this is where I’m going.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that helped me along my journey from the beginning. My past mentor has helped me in all forms of learning about marketing and building a business from the bottom up. My parents were and still are a big help to me with letting me pursue this business and not force the idea of going to college as a mandatory thing to do. Other friends, family, and past mentors helped as well.
