We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Wiese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My success is the success of my company, Tree Ring Digital, and the most important factor behind our success comes down to one ridiculously simple thing – always treat others the way we want to be treated. That’s how we deal with clients, that’s how we interact with one another, and that’s how I treat the team. It’s terrible to be unhappy at work, and it makes it impossible to do your best work. I make every effort to notice not just what each team member excels at, but also what part of their job is most interesting and exciting to them and keeping them focused on that. Creating a culture where our team can thrive so that they enjoy coming to work is essential to me. When they enjoy what they do, they’re happy and motivated to perform at their best and to provide the highest possible level of service to our clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tree Ring Digital is a Denver-based digital marketing company that offers services ranging from WordPress website design and development to search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click advertising, and social media, content, and reputation marketing. What really sets us apart from others is the level of personalized service we offer clients, and I’m most proud of our team and excited about the future! It sounds hokey, but it’s true. We have a great team of professionals who collaborate well together and are very service-oriented. We’ve got our unique process down, and honestly, it looks like the sky’s the limit for us. I got where I am by disciplined hard work and focus, and by having the humility to know that I didn’t know everything. I sought out mentors and advisors, and I owe them so much. It definitely wasn’t easy, but relying on them, on my friends and family, and consistently making time to work out and rock climb gets me through a lot. I’ve learned how fortunate I am to have found my path fairly early in life, and that assembling an enthusiastic and talented team to support you is really everything.

As for what the world needs to know about Tree Ring Digital? We’re a full-service digital marketing company that truly listens to our clients. We specialize in bespoke solutions, and never recommend a marketing plan without knowing a business and its goals. We’re well-equipped and positioned to serve the needs of our clients today and to help them scale for the future – we always say we like our clients to “put down roots and branch out with us,” and we mean it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Right now I couldn’t really be away from work for an entire week – there are just too many goals for my business to reach right now! So let’s make it a weekend. Anyone who knows me knows rock climbing would be on the itinerary. We’d definitely fit that in. If we were staying in Denver, I’d take them for a workout at Green Door Fitness (greendoorfitness.com) because it’s such a great atmosphere, and because we’d be hitting The Walnut Room (thewalnutroom.com) for pizza and drinks later, so we’d need to preemptively balance the feast. Finally, I love to get outside the city, so I’d take them to Golden. We’d go on a morning hike, then enjoy walking around the local shops, cool off by tubing down the creek, and end on a patio at a local restaurant. So, I guess it’s a long, adventurous weekend!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At every point along my path, I’ve been so grateful for the mentors and the network I’ve found. Because I had no formal training or experience in web development, marketing, or business when I got started, I knew I had everything to learn. I could say I’m self-taught, but that’s not exactly right. I’ve relied heavily on local workshops, audiobooks, Mi Casa Resource Center (micasaresourcecenter.org), and the people I’ve met along the way. I can’t count the number of times I’ve said “I’m just so fortunate I had that connection.”

Specifically, my business advisor Lani Langton (lanilangton.com) has been instrumental in the growth we’ve experienced in the last few years. With growth comes new obstacles and again, having the right connections is often the solution to overcoming obstacles that seem insurmountable. Lani is always there, ready to help us with amazing advice and to help us partner with great professionals and experts – and all of those things have made a tough journey less difficult.
