We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Zang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose an artistic path because I want to inspire others and visualize relatable feelings or thoughts to encourage or evoke something within a person. Choosing to pursue an artistic career path has taught me that there is always going to be struggles, but you can find comfort, safety, and freedom all within your art. I want to move people the way art has moved me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am really proud of the progress I have made with my art over the last year, and I am excited to see my growth along my journey. The biggest challenge for me has honestly been myself. I say that because I am my biggest critic, and it’s really hard to push past all the negative thoughts and feelings I have when it comes to my art. I remember my first my first live show I did, and it was really intimidating and overwhelming because I felt like I was not “good enough” to be there painting and showing my art. Since that day I constantly have to remind myself I am good enough, and the best thing about art is the freedom of expression, and no one should deny themselves of that freedom.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to The Black Box or to Your Mom’s House. Both of these places have amazing music and visual artists come through all the time!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family, my partner, and my friends deserve a shout out! With out them, I truly don’t know where I would be at in this point of life with out all of their love and support. The people that are in my life constantly push me to do better and inspire me every day, and I truly couldn’t be more blessed!
