We had the good fortune of connecting with Perry Smith Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Perry, why did you pursue a creative career?
Most importantly on why I Pursue a creative career is because I see alot of street brands out in the world but they don’t have extended sizing. I think the husky men and women don’t get the luxury of tons of streetbrands making clothes for them. With me being a bigger guy, I know this first hand that the biggest size is usually 2xl and even with that, the 2xl fits like a large.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the creator and owner of Collection Cloths. Collection Cloths is a clothing brand that was developed and creator in Denver, Co aimed to break the barrier of bringing all talents together for a greater good. As I said I want to bring as many talented individuals together to look nice and to help co create with others. Where I am today hasn’t be easy at all, owning a business as a whole is hard work and you have to make sure you can appease to the masses to sell a product. Overcoming challenges by yourself is extremely hard, so I believe in setting up a team with open communication to hash things out or even brainstorm together has help me through all the battles I’ve had to come across. Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned was to cut out the middle man and create your product by hand. Also, try to increase your time management by seeing what steps you can cut out to make your project easier and even more profitable. Ive also learned using Social media adds can be hard to use, its difficult setting things up and to get everyone to see the ad, so make sure you do your research and most importantly don’t give up. I want the world to know that this is hard work and that I strive my hardest to bring all great products at great prices.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
5 points is the area to be in. A place with so much culture and beautiful art. Although it has went through some face lifting, it still a creates a certain uniqueness to it and it’s totally worth it to check it out. If my friends are coming to visit I love surprising them with an artistically view so I usually head down to the Underpass or take a stroll pretty much anywhere Downtown and especially the Milk Market Area. If you’re looking for good eats In the Denver area you should check out some of the Black owned restaurants, especially my all time favorite the Welton Street Cafe- you can never go wrong there. And when I’m looking for tasty beverages I make sure to go and visit Trap Tea they have the best Boba in town.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would definitely have to go to the Montbello Area that is truly what molded me into the person I am today. Bellside stand up.
