We had the good fortune of connecting with Priya Laasch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Priya, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
When I look back at my upbringing, I am always amazed what I have done with my life so far…. it is a world away from my childhood! I was born in Germany in the 60’s into a very strict household. Both my parents were born in the war, they barely survived and had very little education. They really did the best they could with what they had, and their mindset was intensly narrow and geared toward poverty.
I grew up very frugal and as long as I remember I always heard “We can’t afford this. It’s too expensive. Money is the root of all evil. We are poor but happy. Look at those rich people, they got lucky….” Very young I realized that I did not like being on this planet and that I did not like my upbringing. I thought “This is so constricted. This is not my life. What am I doing here?’
After miraculously surviving an encephalitis-meningitis at 4, and a terrible car accident at 7, I started having spiritual experiences which led me to discovering a whole different reality, which I kept entirely to myself. I could leave my body at will, disintegrate into fragments, and most of all, I could feel other people’s thoughts and was overwhelmed with not being able to speak to what I saw. When I did, my parents punished me by locking me away, sometimes for days or months on end.
In hindsight, this time alone was a blessing in disguise because I lived in my imaginary world, a place nobody could take away from me… I dreamt of other worlds, a life of love and joy, and being a princess whose prince would come and rescue her on his white horse. I literally dreamt my future, since this is more or less exactly what happened when I was 19…
I realized very early on, that I was different than my friends. I had a very vivid imagination and a very intimate connection to spirit. Both of these faculties have played a major role in my life, which led me to my life as a countess in France, becoming a nun in India, having my daughter at 42 and becoming a successful entrepreneur in the US. It was my deep spiritual connection that helped me get through the death of my son and the suicide attempt of my partner.
It was only when I started seeing my life experience as a gift and a learning, which could help others, that I started my career as a mindset coach, and I dedicated my work to helping women entrepreneurs build their own economy and free them from emotional pain. I absolutely love my life now and am grateful for every experience that has led me to this point, which is just the starting platform from which I am building a new future my daughter and my community.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think my whole life is a labor of love and my business is a reflection of that love – it is the playground for my Soul to express itself in. If I would chose one word to describe my passion to see my clients succeed it would be ‘vocation’. I think that my whole life has prepared me for what I am doing now: helping people create their own economy with the business of the future in integrity, joy and for the benefit of all to free people from financial and emotional pain.
Anyone can coach mindset – it is easy to learn from a book and in a course. What makes the real difference is truly living the teaching, becoming a product of the product because then we can speak from experience – and that includes our dark night of the soul and all the mistakes on the way. Many are chosen and few are actually making it through the first few years, because we are tested on everything we teach and coach. These experiences are not failures but an upgrade, and for me a true mindset coach is one who can see it, go through it, experience and share it and then rise from it like the phoenix from the ashes. I see so many ads about mindset coaches telling people that is is an quick path, requires no work and you make millions the first year. That, plus the greed for money, has unfortunately created a bad reputation, but that doesn’t stop me from gaining clients who chose me. My greatest teacher is experience, and that is why I can encourage and empower my clients because I have been through it all – it speaks louder than 10,000 words!
My work as a mindset coach is truly a vocation and a calling come true, because I remember even as a child I could see through people – the good and the not so good – and tap into the Soul, or what we call the highest potential, of everyone. It is my absolute passion to bring this potential out in each of my clients and in my community of mindset masters and I love working 1-1 with someone who has a big dream like entrepreneurs and small businesses. Seeing their success is my joy and pride, and a reward no money can buy.
What truly excites me is empowering people with the material I received through all my life experiences and from my mentors. My motto is “Together We Rise” and it resumes my life and business philosophy. That is probably why I have the most phenomenal team and each one of my clients is a gift, because together we are creating from the infinite potential within us something new, that has never been here before. When we come together like this, we often create new business ventures, mastermind ideas and find new ways to make our dreams come true in integrity and for the highest good of all – and then we realize them. It is like a playground for the Soul, and that is what I want my business to be!
Maybe this is what sets me apart – I believe in true co-creation and joy, because when one wins we all win since there is only ONE energy field for all of us. Together we can bring out the best in everyone. My spiritual path and deep work with Joe Discenza, Gregg Braden and Barbara Marx Hubbard, who was my friend and mentor for a decade, is a very big part of my work. I love witnessing the transformation, in my clients, and they all leave my coaching with a healthy, strong self-image and knowing the value of who they truly are. I strongly believe in authenticity after having lived for 10 years in a ‘fairy tale’ of the French countess in the castle – I have seen first hand what it does to people when they suppress their authentic nature.
My business and especially being an entrepreneur has taught me so much! It takes a certain mindset to be an entrepreneur for sure! My business went from financial hardship and debts to 6-figure months and then back to nothing before rising again in the first year … it was a roller coaster that taught me that nothing works without a very solid foundation, perseverance, a big vision and lots of good friends – plus good chocolate to get us through the day! I learned to trust my intuition more, and to make decisions and stand up to them even when they were hard. Having gone through these experiences and getting up again to continue showed my the real strength I had as a single mom. Today, I can show others how to get to the next level regardless of where they are at. The biggest challenge for me was patience, trust and taking a day off when need is to completely disconnect. After too many sleepless nights I found that this was the only way to continue and to stay sane. I give it to the universe and do my best – and that is as good as it gets. And I put in as much joy, lightness and wonder as I can for all of us to make this the best experience ever. My team is my rock – and I am theirs while my clients are my best teachers and keep me on track to always grow and expand. Today, I not only offer mindset mastery but also how to live in a healthy money mindset and build generational wealth, create a business and diversify with multiple streams of income. I have 3 businesses and love that they all lead to the same goal!
And all of this is just the beginning… we have so many projects in the pipeline which will transform the world in the decades to come. I see myself as an initiator teaching people the business of the future, while other generations will carry the ideas forth and refine them. My dream is to create a legacy of the highest amount of good for the highest amount of people … and that is what truly inspires me to get up every day and smile at the person in the mirror with love and gratitude!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Where to start when you live in a place like the Rockies?!?
I absolutely love the Garden of the Gods, it is my favorite spot that I never tire to go back to and strolling it early morning is a feast for the eyes and the Soul. Closer to home, Boulder is the Mecca for food and drinks – I definitely have a champagne taste and love the bar at Flagstaff House for a good glass of wine and the view, then heading for a nice dinner downtown to my daughter’s favorite Sushi place and a stroll through Pearl Street Mall.
I would head to Denver for a night out, it has some amazing Jazz bars like Nocturne or Dazzle Denver.
If you can, I would highly recommend experiencing a Rockies game at Coors field or a concert at Red Rocks, a Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe and of course, exploring some shopping in Cherry Creek.
For skiing and hiking definitely visit Rocky Mountain National Park, Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek, Winter Park and Crested Butte – the gems of Colorado.
Personally, my heart is deeply connected to Crestone and the St Louis Valley since I lived there for 3 years. Crestone itself has over 20 spiritual centers, from Buddhist monasteries to the only outdoor cremation site in the US, which the Dalai Lama visited and labeled as one of the highest energy places in America. Plus the people in Crestone, UFO sites and the hot springs make it an exquisite uniquely weekend trip for anyone who wants to experience something different.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have had the good fortune to have amazing mentors in my life, even as a child. My first introduction to knowing I was not alone came when I was 4 years old and alone in the hospital for 3 weeks. I met my spirit guide, who I called Jesus at the time because this was the only association with Love I ever heard of… I have a deep and loving connection to Christ in his essence, which is the essence of us all, as I learned in my spiritual experiences.
On the earthly plane, my English teacher in middle school was the first person who truly saw me for who I am, with all my gifts, and his family became like a second family to me. To this day, we still have a lifelong friendship. When I entered my spiritual path I had the great fortune to meet a very powerful feminine guru, Sai Maa, who introduced me to the most powerful gurus in India, including Sadhguru, Satuwa Baba and Guru Nathan, who initiated me as a disciple in 2004 into the ancient tantric lineage and tradition. In my business, my mentor Bob Proctor plays a phenomenal role in my life, he is outstanding as a teacher of the human potential, mindset and the laws of the universe and his belief in me is unwavering.
I owe a lot of my deeper knowledge in psychology, spirituality and science to many role models who have left this planet long ago, amongst them Alan Watts, Seneca, Wallace Waddles, Napoleon Hill, Maxwell Maltz, Neville Goddard, Einstein, Ghandi, Sri Aurobindo, the Mother and Florence Scovel-Shinn to name just a few of them. I am an avid reader and love studying science, mindset, philosophy and spirituality and I have a deep reverence for beings, who have spent their lives documenting and living their experiences fully.
Beyond life who is the greatest teacher of all, my 13 year old daughter is my daily inspiration, she always opens me to expand my mind and heart beyond what I thought was possible. Her love keeps me going and she helps me to become a better person every day.
