Meet Pulse Ctrl | DJ Duo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pulse Ctrl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pulse, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As music lovers – especially within the world of house – we noticed a gap between the underground and queer music communities. Too often, events and spaces seemed to lean entirely in one direction or the other, leaving little room for a truly blended experience. As DJs, we found ourselves questioning where we fit in – creatively, culturally, and sonically.
That sense of in-between is exactly what inspired us to form Pulse Ctrl and launch our event series, Pulse Controlled. Our mission is to bridge these worlds, creating spaces where underground energy and queer celebration coexist, connect, and thrive. Every set, every event, is built to honor the roots of house music while pushing the boundaries of inclusion, expression, and community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As Pulse Ctrl, we create immersive, inclusive experiences that bridge the underground music scene and the queer communit. What started as a response to the lack of spaces reflecting both our identities has grown into our event series, Pulse Controlled, where queer joy and underground energy thrive together. Building our brand hasn’t been easy – we’ve navigated small gigs, self-promotion, and the slow work of community building – but persistence, collaboration, and staying true to our vision have been our guide. At our core, we’re more than DJs; we’re curators of connection, dedicated to creating spaces where people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired to embrace every part of who they are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Mockingbird (Rino)
Bedlam (Downtown)
Hudson Hill (Cap Hill)
X Bar (Colfax)
El Five

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Sapphic Collective (Denver) – This incredible collective has been a driving force in uniting the rave and queer communities through events centered on uplifting and celebrating the sapphic community. Their dedication to creating inclusive, high-energy spaces has inspired us and so many others. From the very beginning, they’ve played a huge role in helping us grow – consistently giving us opportunities to share our sound, collaborate on unforgettable events, and connect with a wider audience. We’re grateful for their support, their vision, and the community they’ve built.
