Meet Ree Be Budgeting | YouTube Cash Envelope Stuffer and Budgeter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ree Be Budgeting and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ree, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“You have to tell your money where to go, so you’re not left wondering where it went!” I started my YouTube channel to create content that would keep me accountable to my financial goals. I want to improve my relationship with money and eventually be debt free. In order to do that, I needed to find a way to gain control over my personal finances and using the zero based budgeting method, plus cash envelope stuffing is helping me do that. I LOVE spending money and I still do, I just do it within a budget I can commit to.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My channel includes “how tos” for budgeting, cash envelope stuffing, sinking funds stuffings, and savings challenges. I budget off of my salary from my “day job” and film myself saving money for various life expenses. I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m just myself, no gimmicks, no extra fluff, I’m just me on YouTube and I like that I can just be me. I’m sure we’re out there but I’ve only come across two other Colorado based channels. I’m just proud that I got started. I watched many other channels and felt so inspired to start my own journey. The hardest part was committing to a plan, I like to spend the money I work hard for but my spending got excessive and was not sustainable. My bills were always paid but if one thing went wrong with the house or the car and I’d be in big trouble. I want everyone to know that regardless of their income, they can save for their future. There are so many fun and exciting ways to save, while still taking care of your financial obligations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them on multiple hikes, St. Mary’s Glacier – Idaho Springs, Mills Lake – Estes Park. I would take them to a professional game, if in the summer, a Rockies game, complete with rockie dogs and large cold ones. We’d hang out in Aurora at the Gaylord or the Stanley Marketplace. We’d also spend some time downtown Denver on 16th street mall, swing by the Five Points, visit the Black American West Museum. If possible, we’d also catch a concert at the Fillmore or the Summit. There’s no limit to what we’d eat but would definitely consult the Yum guides and eat at locally owned restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of the YouTube cash stuffers and budgeters that I watched, admired, and learned from before starting my own. They know who they are! We’ve all been inspired by the Dave Ramsey method. And of course, my family for their support.
