We had the good fortune of connecting with Roger Wood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roger, can you talk to us about how you thought about starting your foundation?
When we lost Kyle, we saw how important the support structure is. These kids are in the fight for their lives and their family and friends are an important part of their fight. We offer some normalcy in these little ones lives. Having Thanksgiving dinners and Happy meals together as a family, brings smiles that may not have been there.

We also offer assistance to families to help bring family members in. Thru Kyle’s Miles, we help bring family members in that otherwise could not afford too.

Our foundation is constantly growing and changing to help these kids and their families. With one thought in mind. “Hope is Stronger then Fear”!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Kyle’s story and the beginning of this foundation started when the kid in the room next to Kyle had no family visiting him on Thanksgiving. He wanted that kid to have a piece of pumpkin pie! From that we started this foundation and Kyle’s brother Jake has designed some incredible graphics. Starting with a Pokémon named Snorlax ( Kyle’s favorite Pokémon ) holding a pie. To what we are unveiling this Thanksgiving. 2 figures coming together to create a heart, with a pie in the center.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Colorado you have to spend time in the mountains. Aspen and Vail are great places to spend time and money.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all to my wife Beth Wood, without her there would be no foundation. To my oldest son Jake. He was 8 years old when his brother died and he has been thru a lot in dealing with this loss but he is very much involved with the marketing and creating web designs. It’s hard to not mention so many people, but let me just say that we are supported by family and close friends that have helped us in our mission to help these kids and their families for years!! Thank you!
