We had the good fortune of connecting with Sami Nammari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sami, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In short, I saw a need and filled it. I have always wanted to own my own business. I have never liked having a boss telling me what to do. My original dream was to open a restaurant because, I love cooking. After about 15yrs of working almost every position though, I realized that owning a restaurant was the last thing I wanted to do (many reasons behind that decision, lol). What lead to starting my cleaning business was while I was working at Chili’s. I was often the opening server and noticed how dirty the FOH (Front of House) was. One day I decided to talk to our GM (General Manager) about the cleanliness of the restaurant and proposed that if I got my business license would she be willing to hire me instead? She said yes. Two months later, I was in full swing. Within a year, Chili’s made the restaurant I started with the standard for their new cleaning program and my business grew to cleaning 7 other locations. 3 years ago, I switched from commercial to strictly residential.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is pretty self explanatory. I don’t know too much about the other people in my industry, but I would have to say that what sets me apart is my attention to detail and communication. I am a firm believer in staying in full communication with my clients and being able to accommodate them as best as possible, whether if its doing some extra cleaning or rescheduling. Like all businesses there were a lot of trial and error. During my commercial cleaning my biggest challenge was with employees upholding the quality of work that I would do and was becoming known for. With houses, it was learning the needs of everyone and understanding that every person can not be treated like the other and that I need to service each person individually. I believe in second chances. You could say that I had a “peppered past” growing up, but what you have done in the past doesn’t mean that is who you are. Every person is capable of changing if that is something they desire. Never let your past hold you back from becoming the person you want to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Even though I have lived in Colorado for 30yrs, I still haven’t visited everything this state has to offer. What we would do would depend of the person visiting because, I am the kind of person that likes to cater to the other person and not just what I want to do. However, if they were like me, I would take them to climb a 14er (any) play golf or disc golf (at some of our mountain courses), and go white water rafting. We would go to eat at The Buckhorn Exchange, The Bagel Deli, and Toast.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That is hard to say. I believe it is a culmination of life experiences that have brought me to where I am today. My dad showed my a great work ethic, I always try to learn from others around me and from my own mistakes as well. I suppose my shoutout would have to go to my beautiful wife Joanna, who stood behind me when I made the decision to start my business.
