We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is an integral part of entrepreneurism since you must stay relevant with the current trends and needs of your clientele and this requires taking chances on products, services, or marketing styles that may or may not be successful. To me, life is meant to be lived through trial and error since this is one of the best ways to learn. In career and business, you experiment with a product or service, receive feedback from your clientele about it, and then decide whether to launch it on a large scale or not. For me, this has been the process for my newest business, Seeking Source, which offers intuitive astrology and tarot readings to provide an alternative form of counseling for those that are spiritually minded or curious. I had been hearing from friends and my community that I needed to share my intuitive gifts on a large scale since the messages I was sharing in the readings were so potent and life-altering. I was receiving this encouragement at a time when I found out one of my close family members was terminally ill. So I took the risk of closing my previous business, Sarah’s Sitting Service, which offered professional pet care services, and preparing to move out of state to be with my terminally ill family member, while beginning to experiment with Seeking Source as a business. This risk revealed its reward when I realized I am able to share my unique gifts with the world to help others to understand themselves and their lives better, while also being an online business that I can take with me anywhere. Where there is risk, there is reward and the biggest thing to remember is that our obstacles can be our opportunities.

My work as an intuitive astrology and tarot reader through Seeking Source begins with building and taking intuitive notes on a client’s astrological birth chart, taking notes on the current astrological happenings, and setting the space with crystals, candles, and palo santo burnings before the reading begins. It is important to set the space so that whatever messages the client’s and my guides would like to share come through clearly. Once the virtual reading has begun, I inquire with the client about what has been going on in their life and the client goes into what they have prepared to discuss, whether about love, career, or other life aspects. After actively listening to the client, I began to discuss certain placements in their birth chart that connect with the discussion and how this affects their daily life. Breaking down the client’s astrological birth chart and relating it to their current life and struggles is a way to have the client understand themselves better and to live in more clarity around how they think, make decisions, communicate, and more so that they can make changes if needed. When you understand the why, you can change the how! The tarot cards come in towards the end of the reading to provide the client with their next steps and to explore what energy they are meant to embody moving forward. I believe in tarot reading as a tool of the present, reading the client’s current emotional state and relaying what may occur if the client does not change anything about themselves. Since the reading is done virtually, it is recorded and then emailed to the client within 24hrs of the reading along with images of the tarot cards that were pulled and three personalized journal prompts to reflect on while rewatching the reading and reviewing the tarot cards. This is my process of integration so that the client will be able to come back to what was discussed and reflect on their progress throughout the coming weeks and further readings. I work in ancestor magic, connecting deeply with my own ancestors and with those of the client, in all of my intuitive practices and aim to provide love and light to all that encounter me!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a spiritual experience of the city, I would first start the day with a delicious coffee or tea drink from Gypsy House Cafe, which offers the peace and relaxation of the Eastern world right in the heart of Denver. After exploring the many books and art that Gypsy House Cafe displays, we would head to the mountains in Evergreen since it is only about 30 to 40min outside of Denver. There we would experience a beautiful hike and once at the summit, I would provide an intuitive astrology and tarot reading courtesy of Seeking Source. Next, we would return to the city for a reiki session from The Balam Sanctuary, which aims to provide holistic healing and personal transformation. Lastly, we would close out our day with a discussion of our rose (best thing that happened), bud (looking forward to), and thorn (challenging thing that happened) of the day. The most exciting part of the day was connecting with my best friend and meeting all the beautiful people along the way!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My journey into the spiritual realm and space began a couple years ago with the help of my friend and healer, Valeria Martinez, through her business, The Balam Sanctuary. I had been exploring tarot and astrology and wanted to engage further with the modalities when I saw Valeria was offering a spiritual retreat in Puerto Rico. I immediately signed up and was so grateful I did when I was able to meet my ancestors and guides for the first time through a breathwork ceremony Valeria hosted. Then I was able to dive deeper in my relationship with them through a cacao ceremony, yoga meditation, and fire ceremony held throughout my time at the retreat. The healing medicine that the Balam Sanctuary and other healers in this spiritual space provide is so necessary in this day and age of separation. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my other spiritual baddies, aho!
