Meet Sarah Lustig | Holistic Coach + Spiritual Guide

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Lustig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, how do you think about risk?
Risk is something we engage in every single day, though we don’t always realize it. It is a risk to eat certain foods, or start something new. To some degree we have to take these risks in order to know if something is good or safe for us. Risk is a natural part of life, but for many it is terrifying. When people have a tendency to overthink, they generally take less risk, because they consider everything that could go wrong. But we also have the inverse; everything that could go right! Which we often fail to consider. When I’m taking risk in my life or business I consider both, what could go wrong and what if all goes ‘right’? This allows me to have all the factors to make a decision from. We have to know our why, which helps us through the times our risks don’t pay off the way we want them to. They can still be learning opportunities, which allow us to pivot to a more aligned path. I have also worked to regulate my nervous system, which makes taking risks easier and less frightening for our Egoic brain, which likes to keep us very safe. Risk can be fun, but it will never be if a person has a dysregulated nervous system, and many people do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I absolutely love what I do and am so honored to do this work. I am a Licensed Therapist in the state of Colorado, Holistic Life Coach, and Spiritual guide/teacher. I help, primarily young women, navigate the challenges of their healing and inner work. I help my clients heal from and release years of stuck trauma and heavy emotions. I help my clients find more clarity, more passion, more purpose, and more joy. I have many years of personal experience with healing, and am able to be and walk with my clients through great depths. I have a calm and soothing demeanor and meet my clients from the heart. I love witnessing my client’s growth and how they begin to increase their self-acceptance.
What makes my work unique is that I combine aspects of psychology and spirituality with nature. Our healing is ultimately meant to connect us more deeply to our authentic selves, our relationships, our community, and the Earth ultimately. I do this by combining different Earth elements with self-exploration and rituals. This work is deeply connected to the heart.
Starting my own business was challenging. My previous boss was unhappy with my decision to leave and threatened to sue me. I had to hire a lawyer and it was a stressful time defending myself. What helped me get through was believing in myself and knowing I was doing the right thing for myself and my life. Others in life will try to stop us, not everyone wants us to succeed and sometimes people don’t want to give us up because they recognize our massive worth. It is important as a business owner to know what you bring to the table and what you have to offer your clients, and the world!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love bringing people to Happy Hour at the aquarium, especially on a cold winter day. It feels like a little oasis in there. I also love the Denver Botanic Gardens. It’s a great place to take dates for those who are dating. There is plenty to see and talk about and the food at the Cafes is pretty good! I love being in nature and always take guests to Maxwell Falls, in Evergreen, which is one of my favorite hikes. Denver has great Asian food restaurants, like Thai Pot Cafe and Pho on 6th. I also love Adelitas and Uno Mas for Tacos! Going to a Rockies game is fun, even if they lose, because the ambiance of the stadium and seeing the mountains in the distance just feels quintessential Denver!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Maya Angelou is who gave me the words, which would lead me on a path, to becoming the healer I am. When I was about 14 I read a quote by her, “I can be changed by what happens to me, but I am not reduced by it,” that changed my life and how I saw myself. I had experienced quite a lot of trauma at that point in my life, and I felt so broken as a result of it. Maya’s words helped me see myself beyond this broken feeling. I could see I was not ‘less than’ because of what happened to me. I was definitely changed by my experiences, but her words transformed me. Those words would ignite quite a path that I am still unfolding.
