We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Rimmel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
In visioning the brand, it has been important to build alongside people invested in the growth and resilience of each other. A core principle that guides us is that we can do more together than we can alone, and we can take care of each other in the process. Also important to our brand is a commitment honoring our experiences and promoting justice, choice, responsibility-taking, healing, and abundance in all our lives.
What should our readers know about your business?
Inclusion Spark LLC is a small coaching practice that focuses on leadership development, embodiment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy. Our services include individual and team coaching, a leadership incubator (coming in fall), and integrative consulting services, including assessment and team training (limited availability). Through a blend of embodiment/somatics, intercultural awareness, and social justice principles, we partner with people to encourage living our full selves, especially the parts of ourselves we’ve been taught to silence and hide. We especially enjoy collaborating with people across age, racial, gender and sexual diversity.
I am most excited about the Leadership Incubator we’re launching in fall. Have you been frustrated not knowing how best to promote diversity, inclusion, and social justice? Have you witnessed too little change, too quick of change, and not the right change in your organization? Are you ready to feel reinvigorated around your personal commitment to DEI? Along with others, people will be able to explore self-and group dynamics of leading across diverse populations and cultivate authentic ways of leading. We will do this from a place that promotes leading from a place of ease, play and sustainability. Sign up to our newsletter to learn more.
If you are ready to start one-on-one coaching for personal and/or professional reasons, I am also welcoming new coaching clients. Coaching occurs online with an eco-coaching in-person option for connection and healing time in nature with horses. Call me at 720-739-1208 or visit the website to talk about your needs and learn about summer specials for Individual and Team Coaching Packages.
Have there been bumps along the way to starting the business?
Yes, of course. Inclusion Spark started as a community project to engage 100 business leaders in conversations about diversity and inclusion. My business colleague Rowen Thomas of Rowen’s Consulting was one of the first people who said yes to Inclusion Spark, and it has been heartwarming as others join. There is much more to say on this all and each day I remind myself to practice trust and allow for the unfolding. Please join my newsletter if you’d like to receive occasional inspirational tips.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For someone visiting Denver, I’d encourage the following: stay the weekend at the lovely family-owned Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast Inn, a yoga class @ Satya Yoga Cooperative, Raíces Brewing Company: Latin American culture/food/beer, Tocabe: An American Indian Eatery, and a show at Red Rocks amphitheater.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is dedicated to mom, my ancestors who fought for me to be here, my nephews C&C, my partner, and encouragement I get from nature, birds, mentors, and teachers.
