Meet Sarah Sweatman | Wedding Planner + Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Sweatman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what inspires you?
I am truly inspired by two things when it comes to my work; my clients and my fellow wedding planners in Colorado Springs. My clients are the ones who give me the opprotunity to keep doing what I am so passionate about and my fellow planners help support me and have my back when I need support. Inspiration looks very different from my couples than it does from my fellow wedding planners. My clients trust me to be inluded in arguably the most intimate and special day of their lives. The trust that is cultivated between me and my clients is unbreakable and ensures a smooth and beautiful wedding day. The fact that I get to be apart of couple’s wedding days over and over again is a true honor. My fellow planners are an inspiration to me behind the scenes. It’s the uplifting texts, the offer of helping hands during a busy season, or a coffee being dropped off on a day full of meetings.
These two categories of inspiration fuel my work, passion, and continues to help me set new goals as a small business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is truly the passion of my life. I have been in the wedding industry since I was in highschool and started my journey as a wedding planner’s assistant. I loved the unique weddings I worked and the demand for me to quickly learn and adapt to each couple. I feel as if I have a wonderful approach to planning/coordinating a wedding for my couples. I recognize that each couple is unique and unlike any other couple I have worked with. I honor their love and strive to highlight their dreams on their wedding day. The ability to bring their dream to life is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my career.
I have worked very hard to get to where Everlasting Weddings by Sarah is today in 2022. I have held the posture of educating myself and staying behind the scenes in order to learn all I can from my collegues. Although I show up for my couples every time, I still feel as if I can still improve and adjust my skills to become the best version of myself as a planner. Being a vendor in the wedding industry is brutal, it takes a toll on your life and is not easy. In order to overcome these challenges and come out ontop, you have to acknowledge you. Give back to yourself, your health (mental, physical, etc.), and your personal life. I have learned to give myself days off in between weddings. It is a MUST in order to recharge for your next event.
I want the world to know that Everlasting Weddings by Sarah was created with a vision to serve people on their most special day. We want past and future clients to know that we hold your wedding experience to the highest degree and celebrate your love along with you and your loved ones. Although we are behind the scenes on your big day, we feel seen and appreciated when a smile is on your face. We look forward to our future as Everlasting Weddings by Sarah and serving those in love, with love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would plan for a calm and relaxed trip with my best friend. This would include countless coffees from Wayfinder Coffee shop in Colorado Springs, trips to the local plant nursey (Phelan Gardens), walks around the dog park or local hiking trails, homemade meals, and a glass of wine on the front patio. If we felt like being a bit more active, I would take us on a day trip up to the mountains and walk around town. Trying local foods, beverages, and taking in the beauty of Colorado.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to the board memebers of WINE Wednesday of Colorado Springs, CO. They are a group of 8 strong and determined women who founded this networking group in 2021. Each member comes from different areas of the wedding industry but come together to cultivate a supportive and welcoming group of professionals. They hold the posture of community over competition and truly live that out in their daily lives/ work. I feel seen and supported and love being apart of their community.
