We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Benz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My client’s happiness is the utmost important factor— not the likes on Instagram or even how many events I have booked. My goal is to give my clients the greatest experience & the success part will flower from it!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Colorado has such a saturated market for photographers & I often found myself drowning in comparison. I have to focus on being true to myself & my brand; my couples really get to know me (us, really) & we become great friends. I want to be so much more than just another item on their wedding checklist, this is a day that you can never redo; for the couples who’ve trusted me with their special day, I am forever grateful!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to see & do in Colorado, a week would hardly be enough! I’m great at brunchin’— we’d have to hit Syrup in Denver & treat ourselves to their amazing mimosas. Take a drive to Boulder & walk Pearl Street mall. Colorado has some awesome breweries, one of my favorites is in downtown Golden. While we’re there, we’ll visit as many antique shops as possible. Estes park has my heart too, we’d get coffee from Kind Coffee & do the early tour at the Stanley hotel. My favorite camping spot is just south of Steamboat springs, we would camp for a few days & kayak the gorgeous lakes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Huge recognition goes to my husband! He’s the twin pillar for this brand & really does a lot of the heavy lifting— gear included. He plays many roles & wears many hats. From behind the scenes video & photo for my social media to holding my couples dog leash while we’re shooting. He is an extrovert & can get the wedding reception crowd going so everyone has a great time. I’m not sure I could do it without him!
