We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelby Schulz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelby, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy is helping people find a home they love and guiding them through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. There’s a deep sense of fulfillment in knowing that I’ve contributed to someone’s journey—whether it’s a first-time homebuyer excited about their future, a family finding more space to grow, or someone downsizing to the perfect place for their next chapter. Seeing the joy and relief on my clients’ faces when they find a home that feels just right makes my work incredibly rewarding. Building those long-lasting relationships along the way is what keeps me passionate about what I do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m incredibly proud and honored to have the opportunity to guide people through one of the most significant transitions in their lives—whether it’s finding their first home, expanding their space, or downsizing into a new chapter. What truly sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to my clients’ happiness and my focus on building long-lasting relationships. I approach every client interaction with authenticity, empathy, and a deep care for their unique needs, which helps me build genuine connections.

Having been in the real estate industry for over a decade, I’ve learned that no deal, client, or situation is ever the same, and the market is always evolving. It wasn’t an easy journey to get to where I am today—there were many challenges along the way. But my ability to adapt, my constant desire to learn, and the genuine joy I take in helping people have always driven me forward. I believe that being authentic and confident in who you are is essential, and that energy attracts the right people to you. I also welcome constructive criticism; it’s the best way to learn and grow.

The most important lesson I’ve learned is that it’s okay not to know everything right away. What matters is the ability to find the answer and always act with confidence and integrity. At the core of my business is the idea that my clients are more than just a transaction or a price tag. Yes, this is my career, but I truly love what I do because of the personal connections I make and the impact I can have on people’s lives. I want people to know that I’m not just a real estate agent, but someone who deeply cares about their journey and is here to guide them every step of the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to make sure they experience the best of Colorado’s charm, local flavors, and adventures. Here’s what our week would look like:

Day 1: Red Rocks + Golden Adventure We’d start the trip with a must-see—Red Rocks Amphitheatre. If we can catch a show, even better, but just walking through the park, hiking the trails, and soaking in the views is incredible. From there, we’d head to Golden for breakfast at The Biscuit Company. Afterward, we’d stop by the Golden Farmers Market to grab some fresh veggies and a unique coffee drink. The day would continue with a float down Clear Creek—so refreshing and fun in the summer. We’d wrap up with dinner at the Golden Mill, where you can sample different drinks and food options, all while enjoying the laid-back vibe.
Day 2: Art + Avanti + Dumplings We’d spend the morning at Meow Wolf—it’s such an immersive, mind-bending experience, and perfect for anyone who loves art and imagination. For lunch, we’d head to Avanti for a frozé and some diverse food choices. A bonus stop would be Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings nearby because dumplings are always a good idea! To finish the day, we’d grab cocktails and dessert at Señor Bear—their El Snickers is an absolute must-try.
Day 3: Cherry Creek + Biking We’d keep it active with a tandem bike ride along the Cherry Creek Trail. It’s such a fun way to explore the city, with plenty of shops and cafes to stop in along the way. Easy to hop off for a walk through Cherry Creek To check out local shops in the area.
Day 4: Mountain Vibes No Colorado trip is complete without getting into the mountains. We’d take a day trip to Boulder, starting with a hike at Chautauqua Park and lunch on Pearl Street. The small-town, outdoor vibe is unbeatable, and it’s great to just hang out, people-watch, and browse the local shops.
Day 5: Denver Exploration Back in the city, we’d visit Union Station for brunch and coffee. It’s a beautiful, historic spot that has everything from shops to restaurants. From there, we’d explore the nearby Denver Art Museum and then spend the evening bar hopping in LoDo for drinks and snacks.

With this itinerary, we’d cover all the bases—great food, outdoor adventures, art, and local culture. It’s the perfect blend of everything that makes this area so special!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my journey, several key people and experiences have contributed to my success. I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Nathan Adams, the owner of redT Homes, where my real estate career began. I started with interior design, but Nathan saw potential in me and helped me transition into real estate, supporting me every step of the way. His guidance was instrumental in helping me grow, earn my real estate license, join the new construction sales team, and eventually become an independent agent, building a rewarding career that I love.

A special recognition also goes to my husband, Gary Schulz, who has been my rock. He constantly encouraged me to take on new challenges and supported every decision I made, even when I had doubts. His unwavering belief in me has been a driving force in my career. Finally, my move to RE/MAX of Cherry Creek allowed me to continue expanding my real estate career and push the boundaries of what I thought I could achieve. It’s been a journey of growth, and I owe much of my success to these incredible influences.
