We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophie Wolfe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophie, what makes you happy? Why?
At the moment, I am having so much fun building my business! I feel so energized about holding space for clients 1-1, as well as creating accessible and digestible content to help people learn about new perspectives on conscious parenting, how to lovingly support the children in their lives, and embodied relationship with Self and others. In all honesty, establishing a truly aligned work-life balance is something I’m very much still working on. My partner, Kendall, is currently in graduate school at Naropa to be a psychotherapist as well, so there is a lot of talk in our home about how to create a conscious life that gives space to live into our greater purpose of helping others, as well as to support each other, his two beautiful young children, and any future form that our family takes. I am excited to watch the journey unfold. I also take a surprisingly large amount of joy in drinking butter coffee, every single morning.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Rooted Rhythm Psychotherapy and Parent Coaching has been a work in progress. Starting my own therapy practice felt really scary for a really long time. Since my time as an undergrad outside of Boston, I have spent a lot of time working at other agencies and practices…which provided great training and experience. But ultimately, it’s been a journey of owning and trusting my own sovereignty…of believing what I have to offer is enough…and of believing that I am enough. Although it’s taken years of looking inside and preparing, the minute I decided to drop my old stories of fear of not being able to do it on my own and break ties from the agencies I had been previously working with, everything changed. The moments leading up to the big shift were terrifying, but my business was full with a growing waitlist within 2 weeks. My business was born out of the belief that children must get to know the beat of their own drum in order to confidently reach their potential…and that the best kind of parent is one that is Rooted in their own Rhythm. As I have allowed my authentic self to shine more and more…as I have allowed my Self to truly beat to my own the drum….the doors of my business have opened wider and wider to people ready to do the same. I work mostly with highly sensitive and gifted children, young womxn ready to wake up to the truth of who they are, and parents of any kind.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go into the woods all day and talk and laugh and dance with nature. Having travelled as far as New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, Colorado has the most beautiful natural resources I’ve ever known. The woods here are my favorite place to connect with myself and others that I love. We would bring coffee and blueberry muffins from MMM Paleo Bistro off of Santa Fe… one of my favorite spots to be.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Grilo Preto of Movement Ritual and Dana Hood of iBody Studio have both provided a consistent home for me to move my body and connect to my true self during my own healing journey. Having their guidance and presence to help me drop the old stories and come back to my body again and again has been crucial in creating my dream. The way these two leaders create supportive communities through movement practices is an inspiration.
