We had the good fortune of connecting with Stevie Winsborrow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stevie, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I have several habits that I believe help my success. I have ADHD, so routine is important. Every morning I have a routine in which I meditate, journal and other things to help me prepare for my day. In the evenings, I get ready for the next day and do some sleep promoting activities, such as stretching, herbal tea, reading, etc. I try to have a routine for work as well, but that doesn’t always go as planned; it’s a work in progress. I also make sure I eat well, get daily exercise, and laugh every day. Keeping myself healthy ensures that I have the mental and physical stamina to achieve my goals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Nutrition has pretty much been my life for my whole adult life (and even as a teen lol). I am from New Orleans and have been cooking since I was a kid. I’ve worked in all kinds of business and positions within the food service industry. I then pursued becoming a nutritionist. I have a college degree in nutrition. I also have another degree in kinesiology with a concentration in health and wellness promotion, and a culinary education.
I’m registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I’m required to get so many continuing education credits on an ongoing basis. When I added my functional medicine certification, it was through this organization and is now part of my license.
I’ve been the nutrition and dietary director for 5 long term care facilities, as well as a nutrition educator at WIC and I worked with cadets at the Air Force Academy. I’ve also been a contract employee for worksite wellness.
I have almost 28 years experience.
I love what I do and I am very much about helping people feel great, live well, enjoy their food and age healthfully! I love to educate my clients and help them learn to take better care of themselves in ways that work for them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course I would show them all of the things unique to the Springs…Garden of the Gods for sure. Perhaps we would take a trip to Denver and hang around the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to recognize my husband and business partner, Will. I became self employed many years ago, and believe that a lot of my success was due in part to his support. Eventually, he joined me in our business and has helped build it to what it is today. Whereas I help clients with nutrition, he brings in the fitness part. We both treat each client as an individual with their own customized plan, and he is extremely encouraging and motivating to our clients, and to me as well!
