Meet Stil Runnin | Hard Rock Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stil Runnin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stil Runnin, how do you think about risk?
Risks are everything. We see risks as stepping stones to get to the place we want to be. We have put so much on the line for our music and it pays off slowly and surely. We have faith in our band and in each-other and it is a loving relationship between us and our team. At the end of the day when it comes time to jump you must have faith that you will make it, and we do. Funny story, our first large risk was when Will our singer climbed on top of the Penske truck behind our stage at the Colorado State University homecoming tailgate. The band had the idea that it would be an amazing way for us to finish our last song and we did it regardless of the risk. Will was fine and learned afterwards that the roof he was standing on was paper thin! and we are astonished he never fell through. We incorporate this mindset in our business decisions and our concerts.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Stil Runnin is the Hard Rock Band based in Fort Collins, Colorado that plays a unique blend of classic blues, grunge, and hard rock to form something that they call blues metal. Since their formation in 2022, Will Given, Josh Langhorne, Austin Lohrli, and Carson Freng together have been playing live shows and building a reputation for energetic performances and unforgettable shows. Their innovation of Rock n Roll to the modern era is impossible to miss as they live their lives in rockstar fashion with the motto “Peacefully Wild”. Their writing process is spontaneous and cumulative as ideas are shaped and formed into songs. Every band member contributes to the final song that you hear at our performances, and a song is not finished until it passes our ‘trial by fire’ test in front of a live crowd. Above all else, we hold our musical connection sacred with us and our fans, and we value this commitment more than anything in the world. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is a lot of amazing spots in Fort Collins. The Coast is an amazing music venue to check out some local talent and bigger acts that are in Fort Collins. The Still Whiskey Steaks is a band favorite restaurant that we frequent, and it is right in old-town that is popping with beautiful artwork and shops. You can find us at Horsetooth reservoir hanging out or walking around old-town. We definitely recommend trying out Gib’s Bagels if you are in need of a fast and amazing breakfast, or if you are looking for a sit down experience, First Watch is known for there amazing breakfast plates.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would not be able to play and enjoy where we are today without our amazing team to keep us runnin. Denis Sullivan is our amazing and forward-thinking manager who always gets us where we need to be. He does everything from booking our shows, managing our finances, advising us on opportunities, and reaching out to radio stations and press outlets to get us exposure. Will Bravo our production manager is our main contributor for creativity and dedication in bringing the best out of Stil Runnin, and has been with us since the very start. Will has gotten our merch-line established, created our website, contributes to song and concert direction, and runs our live sound and merch sales. An honorary mention is our mentor and friend, Eric Griffin, the assistant director of the Music Business program at Colorado State University. Eric has given us invaluable direction and his guidance has continued to move us in a positive direction. We are very grateful for these blessed people and all the others that have continued to help us along the way. Stil Runnin would not be where we are today without all of these positive influences surrounding the band
