We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Draper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind the business was to bring a safe space for men to feel confident in themselves, and take that confidence to overcome things like depression and anxiety. I want to redefine what it means to “man up” or “be a man”.
I wanted to create a community of men to dress better, and be able to lean on each other when they need it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A few years ago I was going through a really tough time. My marriage was at a crossroads and we had to decide if we were staying together or getting a divorce.
We decided to stay together but in doing so, that meant we had to go to therapy three times a week.
Until that point I had no context for what therapy looks like or what it entailed. I always thought it was for mentally ill people.
So I approached therapy like I would approach a business meeting, and showed up in a suit.
What I realized was happening was the suit was giving me confidence to talk about my feelings in a healthy way.
So that’s when I got the idea for Inherent. A place that is safe to talk about your feelings, and dresses you for confidence.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Want to thank our initial investors for believing in me, Billy Ness, J.B. Sanchez, and the Quest 7 group. As well as Davin Nuebacher for mentoring me, but most importantly our clients. They have come together to create this amazing Inherent community, and I feel like every client is a friend.
