We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Husser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When you begin acting they often speak of the acting bug. It’s this condition when you can’t desire anything but to act. I knew I had it when I was 16 after watching the film ‘Call Me By Your Name’. I was completely captivated by the young Timothee Chalamet, his vulnerability, the ease at which he expressed his character and became that character. His performance truly changed me, changed my mind of what my life could be, I could be an actor.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an actor, my craft is always my focus. Becoming a more captivating, authentic, and vulnerable actor. I’m huge on learning, learning new techniques, studying the great acting teachers, and meeting new coaches to learn from in acting classes. I think that willingness sets me apart from other actors, my constant search for information to expand my performances, and understand not only new characters but about people and their actions and motivations inspire my acting. As for every actor perseverance is a huge factor in success, I credit my recent successes on just that. In this industry it’s just as important as talent and work ethic, perseverance and tenacity gets you in the door, so your talent and work ethic can shine. The most important thing I want the world to know about me is how dedicated and committed I am to making this pay the bills. I want people to know I love this, know I’m in this for the long haul, I hope to act till I’m too old to memorize my lines. I want to build a legacy of empathy and compassion through my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start out by getting some lunch at the Mellow Mushroom on 16th street mall, they have what I consider the best pizza in Denver. It has all the right elements a crunchy crust and a tasty sauce ready for your topping desires. After we’d take our time enjoying the botanical gardens in all of their beauty, it’s the most peaceful place in Denver the perfect place to catch up with an old friend. To add to the fun for dinner we will get Sushi Rama, a great place to have fun and bring out the kid in anyone. For breakfast the next day we would stop at the The Delectable Egg for some crab cakes Benedict. We’d venture from there to explore Meow Wolf to get lost in the colorful world of Convergence Station.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dave Young, of Widget Studios in Denver. I had the privilege to write and direct a short film in 2022. It’s been the most rewarding experience thus far in my career. Dave, was my sound recordist, sound mixer, sound editor, sound everything. Dave was brought on by another crew member last minute, little did I know he would become the key in finishing and finalizing my film. Dave was a constant support for me as a young and inexperienced filmmaker, he was there to problem solve, give ideas, and most of all there to help me bring my vision to life with all the resources he had. Dave’s 20+ years of experience in filmmaking, allowed my short film to soar like I have never imagined. Without him I wouldn’t be as proud of ‘You Can Say It’ as i am today.
