We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrell Matheny and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrell, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my own LLC because as an entertainer you have to have one! That’s literally like step one to being a successful entertainer.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love being in entertainment! Since I was young, I’ve been entertaining people through dancing and music. As I got older, I learned that acting was something that came naturally. My proudest moment in my career was having my face plastered on 5 billboards in Time Square for a little over 5 weeks right about 1540 Broadway in New York City. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. That’s pretty much how I look at it, that’s why I’ve been successful at this industry because of HARD WORK. Nothing worth having is easy, let that sink in. I have learned that it’s not going to happen overnight this is a constant battle up and down hill. Work hard first and play later that’s my advice. My grandmother told me “Don’t look down, just look up and move forward.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to 16 street mall, View House, if they made music or wanted to throw an event, I would take them to Get Busy Living Studios. I would also take them to lookout mountain, Blackhawk, Cave of the Winds, the Royal Gorge, Meow Wolf for entertainment. Food wise I would take them to Swine BBQ in Golden, Co, In-N-Out in Aurora, Original Chubby’s on 38th in Denver and most likely the Juice Seafood!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my Kids, Lyriq – Marie and Kree Thomas without them I’d prolly be in a different situation they keep my head focused on the goal.
