Meet The Social System | Denvers Top Native American Hip Hop Artist, Chef, Entrepreneur, & most importantly Certified God’s Son

We had the good fortune of connecting with The Social System and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The Social, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
What I have always strived to leave as my legacy is to give people hope. We all come together on this Earth to share it and as unperfect as it may be it still is a beautiful place to call home. I know theres many people out there that deal with grief, addiction, depression and even anger and I stand as a beacon to anyone who hears my music or reads my stories that YOU can make it through anything. Personally I have lost everything you can imagine, parents, family, pets, money, security, but instead of leaning on a dependency to cover my own issues I have faced it head on and stood out of jail, stood away from drugs and if I can do it with all the loss I was forced to digest I believe for a fact anyone can as well – if you love YOURSELF and you keep the FAITH. I would not be where I am without the creator of many names, God and for a fact I know that I am protected whether inside this shell of a body or in a spiritual purpose my mission here is to show unconditional love and to give hope. My life has never been all glitz and glamour or happy sunny days – alot of my life was filled with nightmares but a voice telling me to be strong and to rely on myself and here I am now realizing that voice was me today and the voice telling me to keep going on my life purpose is who I am to be in the future and I can’t wait to develop into him. Keep the faith and always show love and that is the message I will always want to be remembered by today, tomorrow, and till all of me has faded to another place of being.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been recording music since I was 16 years old. I started writing music in my notebooks with my pencils when I was a kid because I grew up in a very emotionally unstable enviornment so I found that my writing was where I could express and own my voice. When I hit puberty and saw many of these younger artists on XXL magazine; a time when it took actual respectable skill and dedication to get on the front page I knew I had to get serious. I got myself my buisnesss LLC when I was 19 and have had it in good standing ever since. It has not been easy; I have had to develop a-lot into the artist that I am as they say it takes 1000 hours to master something and I still feel there is more room to grow and develop into my craft. And its not just writing my words and voicing them into a microphone its about standing on something and believing in yourself even if you’re peers are blind to you’re vision it is you’re vision alone to comprehend. Money does not make a man but freedom creates the man. Lessons I have learned along the way is again to keep faith in God and myself and to keep a balance of mental stimulation, reflection, rest, and prayer. This world of ours is beautiful but is filled with many distractions everywhere you look, TV, Gaming, 9-5 jobs, Alcohol, Drugs, you name it so alot of people that surround you will be consumers so do not expect them to fathom what you are working everyday torwards. There was a quote I once read, “Do not expect to be honored in a world where you’re Lord was crucified.” and that really stuck with me but it will not stop me from speaking and working towards my life purpose. Anything is possible and spread love in everything you do because thats all we can do while we are here.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally absolutely love Vietnamese cuisine it is personally my favorite type of food so I would take them to my favorite spots just for that. I don’t drink so I am not educated on the bar life but I do know some of the best eats in my hometown city of Denver. To hangout would easily be hiking on a mountain near Morrison or a path along Lookout Mountain so they could see my home from the beautiful mountains to the beautiful city down below. The most exciting things about my state of Colorado is the wilderness, the fishing, the hiking, the food and even the water – that is what makes us different and makes us special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one who deserves the most credit is God. I have done everything upto now on my own – my own words my own feelings my own interpertation of what is handed to me. Of course with the help of engineers who have recorded me, my wife who has stood by through my side even at the ugliest times and the people who I grew to be inspired but I gotta say truly I give it all to God and I don’t meant that in a freak religious way I mean that in the highest form of spirituality where I hope most will find what that means. I have been given a strength stronger than most. I have been inspired truly by my late heart dog who died 4/4/2024 as she was 7 pounds but fearless because I was always behind her 100% to protect her and that is how I feel with God behind me. Anything is possible if you truly believe that – just look at who I am.
