We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Janelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always thought of myself as a successful businesswoman and consistently excelled in the workplace; but, I knew I had a greater purpose in life. My entrepreneur journey started after having my two little boys and having to return to work after only two weeks of maternity leave. Being the provider for my family, I knew I was deserving of more and started a journey of self-discovery to understand what my purpose was. After thinking about my strengths, skills, and passions I started to define what my business was going to be. I transformed my purpose into a business which was to help others define who they truly are. I started the business as a consulting agency for personal brands and it has transformed into an holistic marketing agency that encompasses the same core values of self discovery, transformation, and showing up as your best self.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Divineu is an holistic marketing agency that was created pre-pandemic when I was finding myself and how I can help others find their place in the world. Through that era of self-discovery, I found my gift of helping uncover someone’s purpose and transforming it into a marketable business. My mission was to create a life of freedom, confidence, and creative outlets for other creators, business owners, and entrepreneurs. By 2022, I took the leap of faith from my corporate job and took a bet on myself. I scaled my consulting business into a marketing agency where I helped businesses with social media marketing, photography, content creation, and web design. It was definitely not easy; and, I had to ensure I was not sacrificing my own goals of a healthy lifestyle, work-life balance, and time with my family. My husband was a great support system for me during my leap of faith, and I realized I needed to work smarter and not harder. I created workbooks and sources of passive income so that I can focus on scaling the business and build a team. Often as entrepreneurs, we wear multiple hats: owner, marketer, accountant, distributer, sales, not to mention the personal hats such as being a mother and wife. The biggest lesson I learned on my journey was to not lose sight of who I was during the process. It is okay to set boundaries and have a support system to help you juggle all the daily tasks you have on your plate.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anytime I have a new business bestie or reconnect with a friend, one of my first stops is always Drip Queen Coffee. Not only will we enjoy some delicious coffee, but we will enjoy the ambiance of luxury and relaxation. After we catch up, we will catch a vibe at Helen Hunt Falls. It is a great way to get some exercise on their many hiking trails, enjoy the sounds of water flowing, and admire the beautiful views of the city. Next, we can grab a bite downtown at Coati where we can get some of the best seafood and mac and cheese in town at Luchal’s. Lastly, we can’t end the day without some shopping! The hidden gems for shopping are not in the mall, but the many shopping centers in town at Southgate, Interquest, and Briargate. The most exciting part of it all is enjoying the company of your family and friends! Grab a blanket, an activity or two, and some snacks, then just lay out on America the Beautiful to watch the stars with the people you love.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is a myriad of amazing people and conscious efforts that has helped me become who I am today. My mother was one of the first people to help me uncover my entrepreneur spirit. I have seen her work a 9-5 by day and work on her own businesses by night. She taught me to strive to be better than my average, and gave me the skills on how to interview, promote yourself, and how to be confident. My husband was the second person who supported me and encouraged me to be even greater. He introduced books like ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill that has changed our life for the better. He also blessed me with our two little boys and my four bonus babies. Their love has truly motivated me to create generational wealth so they have a better upbringing than we ever had. Starting a family of my own also inspired me to find out more about where I came from and was reconnected with my father after 20+ years. He also embodies the entrepreneur spirit and ignited my fire even more! Many other clients and mentors have also continued to teach me new things about myself and push me to do even better! People like L.N. White, Drip Queen Coffee, Shirley with Charity’s Hope, and many more have seen a light in me and gave me the push to continue to expand!
