We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Rose Goodyear and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany Rose, how do you think about risk?
While I haven’t always seen myself as a risk-taker, delving into the creation of four businesses and genuinely pursuing two of them has shifted my perspective. In the midst of actively taking these risks, it doesn’t feel risky; it feels right. I specifically went after two out of the four concepts, which might be construed as two failures, but I don’t see it that way. I view life as a series of experiences and lessons to be learned. A risk to one person is just another’s journey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m inherently a creative at heart. My strength lies in solving problems that may not even exist. I take joy in crafting experiences for people that they didn’t know were possible. My medium is taste and smell, and perfecting the ideal bite or cocktail pairing has been a gift and the foundation for Yours Truly Cupcake. A bakery I never intended to establish, but it has been a staple in Denver for over 12 years.

In the realm of sensory experiences, I founded Scentex as a way to create atmospheric aroma for events. Often, experience creators focus on sight, sound, touch, and taste, forgetting that smell is the most powerful of our senses. It is my personal manifesto to bring scent into the forefront of people’s minds and experiences.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I recently got an apartment in New York, so my ideal NYC day would kick off with a walk-about. Starting in Midtown at Zucker’s for a lox bagel, I’d then make my way towards Koreatown, stopping for a Thai Tea with Bobas and browsing through my favorite Asian knick-knack shop, Tesso.

As I navigate the streets of Midtown, I’d leisurely head south towards Chelsea. I’d have already booked an appointment at the Tenement Museum, a unique experience offering a journey into New York’s immigrant past.

Following the museum visit, I’d take a subway north to the Plaza for a relaxing afternoon tea. Later, in preparation for dinner, I’d lazily dress up and head to my cherished Italian hidden gem in Harlem, Briciolo. To cap off the night, I’d swing by the tiny jazz club, Bill’s Place, a historic spot where Billie Holiday was discovered many years ago.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to my family. I’ve come across stories about parents who set specific expectations for their children—perhaps aspiring them to become doctors, lawyers, or follow a traditional path of marriage and family. In my case, I can confidently say that my parents’ love for me has always been unconditional. There hasn’t been a single moment where I felt the weight of disappointment as I forged my own life and lifestyle.

Their unwavering support has been the driving force behind my journey, propelling me forward through both successes and failures. Without them, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today, with their cheers accompanying me every step of the way.
