We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim and Brownie Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim and Brownie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process was what could I do to help people who had “life wrecks” and lost their way, gone off the rails and now wanted to get back on track. What could I do to help stop the failure most have when they try to come back on their own. Many people are under the impression if they just “suck it up” and bravely go forward that they can succeed on their own. The opposite is true. People need people to come along side of them and help them, encourage them, show them the way forward. Most people will succeed in moving forward toward their best life with others helping them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At age 17 I was a depressed, suicidal teenager. My only goal at that time was to get my father to sign off and let me go into the military. No one knew of my suicidal tendencies but the real reason I wanted go into the military was because I didn’t have the courage to kill myself. So, my thought was at least I could die defending our country. This was 1967 during Viet Nam. As it turned out in December of 1967 I had an encounter with God. I heard a voice speak very clearly to me…”Tim, you are to live, if for no other reason but to help other people”. That encounter changed everything and the depression and suicide left me and today, 53 years later, I am doing exactly that…living and helping others. I am sure that sounds “noble” to some but the point is helping others to their best life is and should be the goal of all of us. It takes all of us to help others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Brownie and I are privileged to live in Woodland Park, Co. “the city above the clouds”. We would hang out on the back deck looking at Pike’s Peak. We would make a different drive each day to different places that are close by…Buena Vista, Breckenridge, 11 Mile Reservoir, Tarryall Reservoir, and Cripple Creek. The main event of each drive is the scenery and the wild life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Frank Sinclair, CEO (chief encouragement officer) of Dream Again LLC Colorado Springs, Co. Frank is a living example of the very reason we do what we do AND to top it off is one of the most influential people on the planet. Why? Because his mission is to encourage others.
