We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Doty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started as a hobbyist photographer. Mostly photographing my daughters growing up. Friends began asking me to take their Christmas card photos or high school senior photos and my photography business evolved! When my family moved to Colorado in 2014, I fell in love with wildlife photography! My business has now expanded to include; portrait, wildlife, landscape, live theater, product and real estate photography!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Photography as an art form is what I’m so passionate about. Capturing moments in time that will be cherished for generations is very rewarding! Whether it’s a tranquil mountain landscape, a beautiful bobcat, baby’s first birthday, a high school senior, an engagement, or a family of four generations, capturing that moment in time is a thrill! The greatest feedback, I often receive, is that I make a session fun. Getting the client to relax and enjoy the moment will produce the perfect expression every time!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week in Evergreen, Colorado! Let’s head up to Mt Blue Sky! The highest paved road in North America! 14,000 feet above sea level with stunning panoramic views and lots of critters! Mountain goats, big horn sheep, marmots, pikas and weasels just to name a few! Rocky Mountain National Park provides a similar experience! Downtown Evergreen for dinner and summer nights spent on my deck at home are the best! We’d definitely attend a live theater performance at StageDoor Theatre in Conifer too! I prefer the mountains but Denver offers so much city fun! So if you’re up for a night on the town, Denver has a lot of options!

My friends and family have encouraged me to develop and expand my art and business!
