We had the good fortune of connecting with Vic Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vic, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Building up the confidence within to take the leap.

What should our readers know about your business?
My overall brand is Ruby Jean. It’s named after my late grandmother. It started as a music label and has grown into multiple ventures, including Ruby Jean Clothing and VICUALS, my photography/videography company. My brands are different because we don’t chase the clout or popularity, we focus on putting out quality. I built everything by just never stopping, no matter the roadblock ahead of me. I’ve learned too many lessons to count. But, it always comes back to NEVER GIVE UP!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depends on the friend. I’d take them to welton street cafe for a meal. The Roxy Theater for a show, The Birdhouse Boutique for shopping and blake st for some night time partying.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mode Ford and Cage Breakers
