We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Rockvam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zach, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Building vans is surprisingly a very creative process. From start to finish it requires problem solving and there can be a lot of creative freedom. Each van is a blank slate that can be built into an adventure rig that can be completely custom. A van build-out can be as simple or as luxurious as you desire it to be. Each van can essentially be thought of as a home on wheels. Houses and cars can be two of the most customizable things that can be worked on and by bringing those together as a single product it requires a creative thought process. Building custom vans allows us to be creative and we think that creativity is what makes a unique and truly impressive products.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a camper-van conversion company located in Loveland, CO. We are a small business that is owned and operated by four of us. We take great pride in our work. We are very proud of what we are able to build which is high quality and capable adventure vans that feel like a home on wheels. The four of us are all family members with different skill sets and those skill sets come together perfectly to create really impressive builds. There have certainly been many challenges that we have overcome and there are certainly more challenges to come, but we have learned that keeping a positive and realistic mindset is extremely important. Ultimately we want to create vans that people love and create life long memories in, wether it’s a van you’re living in full-time or a van you’re using as your weekend adventure rig. We love the thought of someday having hundreds of our vans out on the road with people from all walks of life making memories with them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well since we are all about adventure we’d take them outside first. A day spent up at Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes is always a good place to start. World class scenery and wildlife in the park and then ending it off with some ice cream at one of the many shops in downtown Estes. After that, maybe spend a day around town in Fort Collins and Loveland. Places like Beau Jo’s and a visit to the many breweries is always a good idea. Then some more adventure would definitely be needed so a day of whitewater rafting on the Poudre River would be ideal if it’s summer. (One of our owners, Zach, has guided on the Poudre River as a commercial guide with Mountain Whitewater) If it’s winter then we would take them skiing to a place like Eldora or A-Basin since both of those places have a great sense of community. To end off the trip we’d take them to an escape room. One of the best ones is Looking Glass Escape Lounge which has a bar and several fun escape rooms.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’ll give some love to our friends and family who have supported us in several ways throughout the start of this company. We can’t thank them enough and they truly help drive our passions of creativity, success, and adventure.
