What makes you happy? Why?

We regularly ask our interviewees what makes them happy because at the end of the day, what else really matters? We’ve highlighted some of the responses below.

I think lately I’ve been thinking more about the mundanities. Of course, there are the big sources of happiness: my partner, my dogs, etc but I think the small sources of happiness often go overlooked. Wandering around a place and not worrying if I’ll get lost makes me happy; my sense of direction is terrible. Watching movies with friends and just enjoying the moment makes me happy. It makes me happy when I’m able to make a positive change in someone’s life. I love to help anyone (or anything) in need, so when I am able to make someone smile, give them a hand up, or provide a solution to a problem, my heart is happy. Read more>>

I really enjoy making time for creativity. It’s a good opportunity to center myself against the stress of everyday life and work. Through photography, we can learn to see things differently through a new lens or angle. It a great thing to readjust your viewpoint from time to time. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed more of an appreciation for craftsmanship as well. I like the challenge of forcing myself to use some of my free time to develop new skills and strive to master others. Read more>>

Doing photography full-time is what makes me happy. Its my passion and being able to live from it is priceless. So I can’t see myself doing something else now and for the upcoming years. Read more>>
