Why they do what they do

We asked some of the city’s leading artists and creatives to tell us about how they decided to pursue an artistic or creative career. We’ve shared some highlights below.

Expressing myself and my creativity has always been very important to me. I worked for car dealerships as a automotive technician on very nice cars for many years and it was fun and rewarding, but everyday it was the same thing over and over again. In many ways this career found me. I was very young when I began doing hair & makeup for friends in highschool. I quickly realized I could monetize off this skill that I loved. Over the years I have learned new skills & now specialize in lash + hair extensions. Both are a passion of mine and I am so lucky to be able to do what I love everyday.
