We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Casseday and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matt, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Coming from an entrepreneurial family, I knew that if I had my own practice, I could better deliver excellent patient results while simultaneously creating a culture where PT’s enjoyed working on a daily basis. I love doing what I’m doing as a physical therapist, and wanted to find like minded, fun and passionate therapists to expand my vision. Most importantly, I wanted to make a big impact in our community to be known as the best physical therapy practice in the area, better than the average physical therapy clinic out there.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Physical Therapy of the Rockies is a local, physical therapist-owned and operated outpatient practice in the south Denver metro area. We are dedicated to helping our patients be healthy, active and pain free.
As doctors of physical therapy, we are trained in diagnosing physical abnormalities, restoring physical function and mobility, maintaining physical function and promoting physical activity and proper function.
We create a fun and positive environment for treating your pain and dysfunction while sticking to our core values. Our core values are teamwork, results, responsibility, fun, and community to ultimately help people improve their lives. Whether you have suffered an injury, have musculoskeletal pain, are recovering from surgery or are just looking to stay healthy and active we can design a program just for you.
Our core purpose is to help people and increase their success in life, help them to Do Life Better!
One of the biggest lessons I have learned along the way was to focus on my ‘why’, make our core purpose and values well known, and to treat every patient that comes into my clinic well. I believe that if we focus on making a difference in people’s lives through physical therapy, we will achieve success and be know as the best physical therapy practice in our clinics’ community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take anyone visiting Denver to Wash Park. I love getting some fresh air, running around the park or playing some pick up volleyball. I would then take them to Gaylord St. and enjoy my favorite jalapeño margarita and street tacos at Agave Taco Bar. After that, I would take them to my other favorite restaurant/bar in that area, Perdida for a cocktail!
Other places that I love in Denver are: Red Rocks Amphitheater for any concert, the foothills or mountains to get some hiking in, and Coors Field to catch a Rockies game.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout and thanks to my family first who have supported and inspired me to become a physical therapist and eventually an owner. My father and brother are both small business owners, and played a large part in my success story.
During an internship in my undergraduate studies, I was also inspired by a talented manual physical therapist and small business owner in Greeley, CO named Ola Simonsson.
I also would not be where I am without the backing of Ryan Robinson and Blaine Stimac, founders of Health & Rehab Solutions. They believed in me from the beginning of my vision to be a private practice owner.
