Meet Daniel Luna | Deejay and Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Luna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Back in 2008 in College at the University of Illinois, I started deejaying for my fraternity for fun, but enjoyed it so much that I started deejaying at other fraternity parties and eventually made my way into deejaying clubs and bars. As I gained experience with different parties and nightlife events at Illinois, I started getting inquiries for private events and weddings. With this I also joined a company in Chicago Illinois that focuses on weddings and private events. My goal was to get experience to learn all aspects of the private events industry to prepare to create my own business and company. Finally in 2013, I incorporated my company Luniks Entertainment Inc. and began to expand my business by adding other great DJs, assistants and musicians. We are now one of the most sought after DJ companies in Chicago with over 400 5 star reviews and voted as the best Wedding DJs in Chicago by Wedding rule.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Luniks Entertainment, we offer deejay, entertainment, lighting and special effects for private events and weddings. I started deejaying in 2006 and then joined DJ Persist and Okyne Media Lab as a DJ/Team member and from there, learned the business and how to run a DJ/entertainment company and created and incorporated Luniks Entertainment.

We cater to our clients individually to create an event that represents them while also catering to their guests. Attention to detail is one of our main philosophies and what sets us apart. And consistency in our customer service is what has made us one of the best DJ/Entertainment companies in Chicago IL.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to a Chicago Bulls basketball game, downtown Chicago, and eat Chicago style pizza. Chicago is a very diverse city with its people and its food. So the visit I plan will be centered around food. Anywhere from Mexican to Italian and even Greek, you can find some of the best food in the world in Chicago. Secondly, I would also focus the visit around Chicago sports since this city has a rich History in sports as well. As mentioned, definitely a Chicago Bulls game, Chicago Cubs game, Chicago Bears game and a Chicago White sox game.

They shared the tools with me to become not just a great DJ but a great business owner. If you are passionate about anything in this world, reach out to those individuals that you aspire to be like or want to learn from and tell them you want to learn more about what they do. Some might not respond or even say no, but I assure you there will be someone that can help you. I am one of those individuals that owe it to the world to mentor others so they can also be successful and aspire to be the best they can be in their field.
