We had the good fortune of connecting with Lydia Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started Maple&Moss because I had to. If I wanted to be around my children and still have a career, it seemed the only path possible for both. Maple&Moss started as a staging company but has since grown. We now provide top to bottom furnishing home design, renovation design and corporate design. I also just launched our virtual design program, which I am SO excited about! It cuts the cost and time of interior design down significantly while increasing the ease of selections. It has been a long year of tweaking and editing the program to get it just right, always keeping in mind the importance of unique and personal choices for the client. I never want it to feel like a “packaged design” but rather an efficient and cost-effective way to style your space. The response has been great! We have worked with clients all over the country, the best part being my designers can work from the comfort of their home… a pretty good gig during a pandemic:)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where we live Downtown in Colorado Springs is just a little slice of cute. There are so many locally-owned boutiques, restaurants and bars and it’s all tucked away in the most breath-taking mountain nook. We love taking guests to Garden of the Gods and then stopping for apps/lunch at Shugas. A little shopping off Tejon at my favorite women-owned boutique Colorado Coop, and then off to Boorklyns on Boulder or District 11 for a pre-dinner cocktail. It’s hard to go wrong with our dinner choices here, but 503 West and Ambli top the list for our favorite local spots. Now with the newly opened Kinship Landing Boutique Hotel, we can have guests have their “own” space in this trendy mid-city spot. Not that they wouldn’t like hearing twins up all night…

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All the SHOUTS to my husband Kevin. Having a career and raising children is not for the faint of heart. Doing life beside him is not only a gift but a necessity to continue to grow my business. Since 2020 and “the COVID” we have had to juggle our lives every day, adjusting and pivoting until we made it to bedtime. It’s been glorious and exhausting. We newly adopted twins and as you can imagine that has only added to the beautiful chaos of our lives. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
