We had the good fortune of connecting with Mario Esparza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mario, what makes you happy? Why?
One of the happiest feelings I have is when I see a customer have our product for the first time. They are in peanut butter heaven! The feeling is even stronger when I read our testimonials from our current customers. Feeding people is what makes me happy. Problem-solving and navigating all the challenges The PB Love Company also makes me happy. Giving myself wellness and making sure I can perform well makes me happy… just all feels so damn good!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For most of my work life, I have been in the service industry. Bartending, serving, managing, etc. I have worked in every single front of house position that exists. During some of that time, I started my first business and it was a natural weight loss company based in Dallas, TX. In a way, food has always been part of my connection to my paycheck. I learned that I was really good at providing others an experience that was fun, memorable, and special with food and beverage, or teaching them the joys of how to use food for better wellness. What sets The PB Love Company apart is not only our taste, and colors of the jar, and all those things that matter just a tiny bit… what makes us most unique is our ability to create and deliver the PB Love Experience. I took that skill and mindset of ‘the experience’ with food and essentially put it in a jar! The PB Love Experience is something that truly is special.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A day in the food-life with Mario – We would have to start with some kind of activity/movement to build up an appetite no doubt. A sunrise workout session at Cheesman Park or Red Rocks is always a good option. I would then take them shopping at Marczyk’s for some ingredients to make a later lunch/supper. We would then hit up Snooze on Larimer – the OG for one of the most fun and interesting breakfast experiences around. After that, I would take them to Leevers so they could do a little more shopping for local food ingredients to prepare our later meal. Definitely a happy hour at Lowdown after. A tour to follow at one of my colleague’s manufacturing facilities like The Real Dill or The PB Love Company of course. Probably an afternoon snack at Sweet Cow because they are my absolute favorite ice cream shop! Then we would head back to my home and prepare one of the most incredible, enjoyable meals with all our local ingredients picked up from our local grocers.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A shoutout to all the other entrepreneurs, dreamers, and doers out there. These people are not just the ones that start businesses, but anyone who has the motivation, vision, and drive to literally dream of something and make it happen in real life. For me, the success of others fuels my own success. Not just in business, but in all areas of my life. Cheers to all those that get shi*t done!
