Meet Marcie Smith | Singer | Songwriter | Educator | Mindfulness Coach | Counselor | Joy Seeker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcie Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcie, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Travel, sand in my toes and beach sunsets, Travel keeps me humble and grateful for all that I have and all that I am, sunsets remind me that magic is real and everything is temporary, everything has an ending and there’s always a new beginning. Sand in my toes keeps me grounded and teaches me patience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Denver-based singer-songwriter with music deeply woven into the fabric of my life. From crafting songs that mark time and space to mastering the art of vocal production in the studio, I find beauty in the harmonious interplay of words harmonies and melodies. With a career that spans multiple facets of the music industry, I proudly call music my first love and primary vocation, while also moonlighting as an Educational Counselor. My music brings joy to audiences through performances at special events, festivals, rallies, and more, and I am honored to be a Sofar Music Artist. My dedication to music and the art of storytelling shines through in every note and lyric I deliver.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in Denver depend on the season. In the summer I love a good rooftop restaurant like Del Frisco’s in Cherry Creak or the vibrant space that the restaurant Happy Camper is. Denver offers a wonderful array of museums and art installations my favs are Meow Wolf, The Museum for Black girls, and the contemporary Art Museum of Denver not only has art but another great rooftop with live music and bar. In the Fall a drive up to the mountains is in order to see the changing leaves and aspens, it’s a color spectacle! Winter definitely find a ski resort to have fun at my favs are Copper Mountain, Vail, Aspen, and Winter park, all of them offer some of the skiing in the country and a sweet apres ski scene! Spring I would say a visit to the botanic gardens is in order to watch everything bloom. Walks around Larimer square and Downtown, and bike rides around wash park or city park are always a fav! And last but not least my favorite steak house Guard and Grace, it is a Michelin star restaurant be sure to make a reservation as they are often booked up well in advance!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out Oprah lol truly I have great admiration for her journey and a lifetime of career success.
I’d like to shout out my two best friends Marselle and Priya I literally don’t know what I would do with out these two ride or die friends.
