Meet Christine Martin | Real Estate Advisor/Realtor/Attorney

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine, what do you attribute your success to?
My passion for and true love of my work is the most important factor behind the success of my brand. I truly love helping my clients (who either begin as friends or come to be friends) purchase a new home and/or sell their existing home. From the excitement of a first time home buyer embarking on a new adventure – either braving this amazing responsibility and privilege alone, with a new spouse or with their family – to the despair of a client who has come to the realization that it is time to sell their final home, figure out what to do with most of their belongings and move into assisted living, I hold myself to the highest standard in representing these people. I believe it is an absolute honor to be trusted to guide and assist with these transitions. Each and every client is unique, with a unique set of needs, emotions, and processing style. I treat each person as a unique individual, listening to their questions, their desires, their worries, and ultimately sharing in their joy!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Real Estate Advisor with Engel & Volkers Castle Pines. I have been a real estate professional for about 13 years, helping people buy and sell homes, building spec homes for sale, flipping homes, and assisting investors as well as commercial clients. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was a Prosecutor for the Crimes Against Children Unit in Douglas and Arapahoe Counties. After becoming a mother, following in my father’s footsteps, I made the transition to Real Estate. Being an attorney having tried dozens and dozens of cases throughout the years and negotiating settlements in hundreds more, definitely gives me an edge as far as negotiation, reasoning, and the ability to explain what can be difficult concepts to people who may or may not have ever been involved in a real estate transaction. Having been born and raised in Colorado, with a father who developed a number of condominium properties in the mountain communities of Aspen and Winter Park/Fraser, and having attended CU Boulder, I have the advantage of great knowledge of this state as whole, not only geographically, but with regard the changes and growth Colorado has experienced over the last 50 years. I know the true value and pleasure of living in this great state, as well as different advantages and offerings of different communities throughout – not because I have read about them because I have personally experienced them in my lifetime. I am very proud of the commitment I have to my clients. My time at Keller Williams introduced me to the term “serve my client” and that is exactly what I believe I do – I am not in this profession to make a quick sale and take a quick commission, I am here to be an advisor for life to my clients. My move to Engel & Volkers helped solidify that mantra, as we present ourselves as “Advisors” as opposed to “Agents” as it is our goal to assist our clients make decisions/purchases/sales that coincide with their life goals and enhance their personal and financial future. As an attorney I was also called a “counselor” and in real estate I try to be that for my clients as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would take them to our condo in Beaver Creek. Whether winter for skiing or summer for hiking I believe the Rocky Mountains (and my favorite place Beaver Creek) offer a sense of serenity and beauty that everyone must experience. If it happens to be fall when the leaves are changing, even better! I would then take them to Colorado Springs to visit the one and only Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where you can feed the giraffes immediately upon entry. Downtown, probably to El Five where we could experience incredible food, cocktails and a spectacular view of the city. If weather permits, we would head to Pueblo State Park to boat and surf Lake Pueblo (and if we were short on time we would do the same and take in the incredible sunset at Chatfield). Finally, we would absolutely attend a concert at Red Rocks, with dinner in Morrison to start our evening!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Handyman Brad – makes my life easier in assisting to get properties ready to hit the market!
