Meet Janice Evert | Owner, Fitness Instructor, Mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Janice Evert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Janice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting FIT4MOM Boulder came from personal experience. I have two kids, and when they were born, we didn’t live close to family. Navigating early motherhood without that built-in support system was incredibly challenging, and it made me realize just how important it is to have a village during such a transformative time. I wanted to create a space where moms could find connection, support, and strength—physically and emotionally. FIT4MOM felt like the perfect way to build that village for others while combining my passion for fitness and community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been anything but linear, but every step has led me to where I am today—and I’m incredibly proud of that. Launching FIT4MOM Boulder has been one of the most meaningful chapters, not just professionally, but personally. What sets me apart is my deep understanding of what moms truly need because I’ve lived it: I became a mom without nearby family, feeling the weight of isolation and change. That experience shaped my mission to create a space where moms feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Starting a business while raising kids is full of challenges—juggling time, managing self-doubt, learning as I go—but I leaned into the power of community and purpose. I’ve learned that resilience grows when you’re surrounded by people who believe in you, and that progress matters more than perfection.
What I want the world to know about me and FIT4MOM Boulder is that we’re here to do more than just offer workouts. We’re here to help moms find their village, rediscover their strength, and feel like they’re not alone in the journey. This is more than a business—it’s a movement, and I’m honored to be a part of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to Boulder, here’s how we’d do it—mountains, amazing food, local gems, and lots of laughs:
Day 1: Start on Pearl Street—coffee at Boxcar, cute shops, street performers, and lunch at Avanti with those dreamy Flatirons views.
Day 2: Tour Celestial Seasonings (yes, the peppermint room is a real thing!), hit Boulder Farmers Market, then unwind with a creekside walk and beers at Mountain Sun.
Day 3: Morning hike at Chautauqua, picnic on the lawn, then an afternoon spa break or float therapy. Dinner at the cozy and creative Blackbelly.
Day 4: Explore the NoBo Art District—grab coffee at Beleza and check out local galleries. Catch a live show at the Fox or Boulder Theater that night.
Day 5: Get your adrenaline fix! Go tubing on Boulder Creek or rent bikes to cruise the Boulder Creek Path. Grab a casual dinner at The Sink.
Day 6: Visit the Dushanbe Teahouse for brunch (it’s stunning), then wander the CU campus and stop into the Natural History Museum. Evening drinks on the Rayback Collective patio.
Day 7: Wrap up with a scenic drive up Flagstaff, morning hike at Realization Point, and a farewell dinner at Corrida with one last epic view.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shout out to my amazing partner, my two incredible kids, our supportive family, and the inspiring local mom community—your love, encouragement, and strength fuel everything I do. I’m so grateful for each of you and the village we’ve built together!
